Tearing the 5.4 down finally to assess the damages. Found bearings in ROUGH condition, bores about done in, and the #8 exhaust valve guides had been leaking. Block is. 010 over, crank is .010 under. Being the block isnt the later style NVH block, and being .010 over with cylinder wear, its junk. I've got another block lined up, and ready to go. Crank is probably ok to use with a good polish, so it'll be getting put in storage with my other cranks. I've got a std journal steel crank from an 06 f250 ready to drop in the block I'm picking up if needed. Block I'm picking up is out of an 03 navi, and has a crank in it. Itll probably get pulled down, tanked, and finish honed before assembly. Going back with std bore flat tops to keep stock compression. Keeping stock rods, as this isnt an all out power build. Heads will be cleaned up and inspected before determining plan of attack. I'll probably have exhaust guides put in the driver head and go. It's a budget build, not going to stress too much here. I do have a lead on a set of 99 continental intake cams though. ;-) Sorry for the long drawn out timeframe on this. Between getting married, harvest, and other shop projects, it's been a deal! Hoping it will go faster from this point forward! Sent from my SM-G955U using the svtperformance.com mobile app
