I would buy the Tremic manual and pull it apart myself. It really isn’t that mystical, anyone with a little bit of a mechanical background could do it
You need a bigger hammer. The shifter is only held in by the 4 bolts in the top. If you screw up the shifter in the process at least they are readily available Hopefully you have the wheels chocked and the park brake in, it may want to roll once it breaks freeI have tried removing the shifter I could not pull it out of the transmission. I’ve tried moving shifter with the car movin or stopped. I can start the car no issues with the clutch pushed in. If I release it it will stall because it is in 4th gear. I have not tired the tow truck method that you have said.
So update on the cobra. Was bad synchronizer keys which was causing it to be stuck in gear and not move. With that being said. What would anyone recommend for a clutch. My mechanic does not recommend McLeod clutches as he’s had numerous issues with them needing to be removed and sent back to the company. Prefer a twin disk lighter pedal the better. You need a bigger hammer. The shifter is only held in by the 4 bolts in the top. My mechanic recommended rpm transmissions. They said their labor rate is 750 no matter what is done to it. I think my mechanic gave me his price because it shows 600 for labor rate. However it does cost 180 each way for shipping the transmission.Out of curiosity how much is your labor quote ... think to do syncro keys you're baically doing a full tear-down ... curious what prices are these days
