I currently have a bone stock 4.6 with a Tork Tech Terminator Kit installed. The currently makes 390/400 at the wheels. On the engine stand I have a Teksid block with 03 cobra internals and TFS heads. Need help on what cam choice to go with here. I live in California so smog is a concern, but I want to get up somewhere around 550 at the wheels. I'm pretty sure that's as much as I can get out of the M112 and I don't have the cash for a new blower. Thanks in advance

The land of commies and socialists!
You need a stage 1 or stage 2 cam, anything bigger and you run the risk of not being able to pass emissions.

Now with that said you really need to be honest with yourself regarding how the car will be used primarily. If the car lives at the strip then stage 2's may be the best bet for you. If this is a weekend cruiser then stage 1' will probably be a better bet.

Lastly I think your goal of 550 is a little lofty with an Eaton, especially on a 2v engine. Around 500 is more realistic. I say this because the Eaton will be out of steam so to speak. Now having it ported may allow you to reach your goals. To bad Posi shut his business down.

Keep in mind that the harder you spin that little Eaton the higher the IAT's will be. That is yet another factor in your goals. Great you made 550 RWHP spinning the crap out of it but now the IAT's are through the roof. At that level it may only take a few pulls for the Eaton to heat soak which in turn kills your power because the ECU is now pulling timing.

Thanks for the advice. The car is purely a weekend warrior. I was thinking of sending it to steg to get ported but I wanted to make sure i have enough money for the heads first. I figure I'm better spending the money their than on a new blower that I could simply bolt on later. For now the car is a blast to drive and that allows me to take my time with this build

I'd get stage 1 cams. It's easy to over can a TFS head car.

I'd look at modular head shops cam selection. They're pretty helpful in picking out a cam for your application.

I'd take close look at both MHS (Modular Head Shop) and CMS (Cushman Motor Sports) cams, they both make special cams for blower engines and they both have pretty happy customers.

One thing to keep in mind, the "stages" mean different things from different builders, the MHS Stage1 cam has about the same idle lope as the CMS Stage 2 cam, so it appears that MHS cams are more aggressive at the same stage level. I'd look carefully at the specs when comparing the cams.
