My first post, if I'm in the wrong section it'd just because I'm burned out from researching this stroker kit. I have an 01 cobra 90k, I took a teksid 98 mark viii block, found a used Manley true 5.0/305/9.08cr rotating assembly on eBay. Had a local machine shop bore and hone it .20 over as well as clean the block and crank. He didn't do the pistons but they look good. I did have him Mic everything, it all checked out. Block is on an engine stand in my living room ready to be assembled. Oh I found some 04 terminator heads as well that have been freshened up with hydro'd valve covers. 4.30 gears, (working on mmr irs kit) and BBK longtubes. Anyways l bought main bearings today (MAN33140) with plasti gauge and assembly lube. Which rod bearings do I need? I have the ones that came out they say CB745P STD 10-12. Which I believe are Chevy bearings which makes sense. I'm looking to eventually get this thing boosted with goals of 6-700whp. Is there a better option? The h bearings seem to have mixed reviews. I do beat on my cars pretty well. I want this to be a quarter mile/light to light street beast that can still pop clutch and get sideways. Is that asking too much? Also if we can weigh in on piston rings as thats all I have left. 1.5/1.5/3 seem to be the dimensions. I spoke with manley east/west and they were polite but useless. Summit is tired of me hounding them but every person had a different uneducated opinion. Just looking to dial this thing in. Last thing, with the addition of 04 heads I can run 98, 01 or 04 cams which ones do yall suggest? And what kind of power increase do you think I'll see with the stroker kit, heads, exhaust? It does drop compression so I don't expect much before boosting it. Thank you!!

Go with the same bearings that were in it. You'll be fine. They're Chevy bearings because they offset grind the rod journals to get the increase in cubic inches. Learned that on my big bore set up.

Run the 98 cams if that's all you have. Otherwise I'd look into custom if you have the budget since everything is apart.

Honestly you probably won't gain much horsepower. Torque should go up a little though. Once you boost it it'll pick up more. IIRC my 323ci made around 360rwhp when it was N/A. Stock 03 heads, GT cams, stock 01 intake, and 9.5:1 compression. On boost it was nuts.

The 98 intake cams have a larger secondary intake lobe. It has to do with the way the B heads are set up with the charge motion control plates.

The GT cams I ran were from the Ford GT super car. And were factory installed in the 13/14 GT500's. They're not the same as the 98 Cobra intake cams.

What fuel?
What trans?
I ran 4.30s on my light bolt on ‘01 and they were great but I’d consider 4.56s. Seriously don’t fear the gear.
If you can run good fuel and ideally E85, try for as much compression as you can.
I have a set of stage 3 Fox Lake Terminator heads that need $1200 at the machine shop (that quote was total rebuild including assembly and one new valve due to damage in a turbo application).
Custom cams are great but if not in the budget, I have new ‘13-14 GT500 cams that are the same as the ‘05-06 GT Supercar cams. I have brand new matching ‘13-14 springs. Cams and springs new take offs/never ran.
I’ll take $1500 for all (Fox Lake heads w/ good valves/springs and brand new stock ‘13-14 cams/springs).

Either way, great fun in a nasty built 5.0 modular stroker.
Good luck!

First off I want to apologize for posting and taking a hiatus that's my bad. I had poor results posting on sites like this in the past..

Updates and responses...
I haven't touched it lol whoops...Life, the club (shoot us a follow I am president of @musclemafia.cc so it's just me on acct)
Literally pulled bearings out today to drop my nuts and give it a go..ALSO the block migrated from kitchen /living room to my bedroom hahaah

01yeller yeah I do not expect much in gains befrore I boost it but your numbers still give me an idea. I actually have every set of cams they made factory for these motors available from 93 Lincoln to 04 Termi. I do believe I am going to run the 98 Cobras hopefully degreeing those isn't too much of a task as funding is non exstent. I'd love to check out those cams very curious how you stumbled up on a set haha I unfortunately don't have budget for a custom setup...yet

@FIREBALL these motors are a trip the whole history in general just think they were dropping 4v Cobra motors in Mark viii while stangs still got 5,0 (93-95)

@biminiLX
Calling me out hahaah go bigggaaaa
I'll be on pump 91 at start with a goal of E85 ASAP ASAP
Even before boost. That sounds sweet dude but as above mentioned while it is time i am all out of funding for go fast at the moment
Also as of now still have TR3650 so there is a ceiling to what i can put down.
Any budget friendly clutch suggestions?
Sorry again yall for late reply i am going to try and post some pics hope all of you are doing well and ready for race season!!

I posted what was easy on my chromebook let me get these main bearings in and ill update!!

I ran a stock 04 clutch behind my bb/s set up. With a 3650 and T56. But I didn't do any clutch dumps and only took it to the track a couple times.

Look up going with a full thrust bearing. It can be done on these engines and it will be something I do when I build my new engine.

Did King ever hook us up with a full thrust bearing kit? I remember back in the day guys would buy two sets of bearings to make the full thrust bearing.

Ok that's a new one for me so thank you I am doing soe research right now. Hopeflly it's something I can buy separate from the whole bearing kit together again.

As for the clutch,I have an Oreilly's special in my 98 that is pretty much stock other than 4.10, posi lockker (i know not correct term but I forger the exact brand) and exhaust and ive put close to 40k on that bad boy while clutch kicking like a ninja daily and somehow it's still solid.
(knocks on every piece of wood in the house)

But this will be beat on just as frequently just driven less day to day so we will see I guess budget pending at this point. The good news is it takes me about a days work to drop my trans out and swap a new one in but my lower back tries to avoid that lol

Thanks again for info posting more pics now
