I had a 68' California Special that was totaled in a wreck at the end of my block one Saturday morning in August 2013. I decided then that I would look for a newer GT500. I had pretty much settled that I would look for a 2012 convertible. Although my son kept telling me to look for a 2013 or 2014 to get the higher HP and the rest of the bells and whistles. One Sunday evening my son was on me to look for a 2014 and my wife said, to my surprise, "Why don't you go to the dealer and order what you want?" This was mid October and I was sure that no one had any allocations left. But you can sure bet we were at the dealer the next morning. I walked into the dealer and told the first salesman that I wanted to see about buying a GT500. He was a little shocked and said he would check. He came back and said, your in luck, we just received our last allocation and we've ordered a red coupe. I said that I didn't want a red coupe, I wanted a white convertible. He went and checked again and said they think they may be able to change it. So I optioned it the way I wanted and a couple days later they had the DORA for my car. It was ordered in mid October and picked up the Friday before Thanksgiving 2013. So about five weeks total from order to delivery. It's only got about 3200 miles on it at this time and I don't plan to ever sell it.
