Tore down the '99 motor and am in the process of rebuilding. I'm though the "hard stuff" inside and have a couple things to verify before I get too far.
1. Timing Chain Tensioners: The 99 has the iron ones, supposedly more robust. With about 70k on them...
I seen a post a while back about how hard a 2 step is on the tensioners in 96+ cobras. the fix I seen was that you pulled the pin that ratchets in the tensioner out and grind some of the teeth off. I am trying to find that post again or have someone tell me that they done it and how many teeth...
So with the too common issue of GT500s and Cobras breaking the timing parts on motors I spent a good bit on these new parts. I purchased their billet Hurricane oil gears, billet lower crankshaft gear, ARP passenger and driver side secondary tensioner bolts, ARP crank bolt and billet passenger...
As the subject says im looking for the Thump Tensioner, would prefer one with the ribbed pulley but would take one without if the price is right

Hey guys have a good lfp aux kit for sale this kit has a metco 100mm idler with silver finish. Kit was uaed for maybe 2 weeks then removed before sale of vehicle. Asking 85 shipped. The idler pulley was 89 by itself. Pm please thx
What is the best and easiest way to change out the tensioner pulley and the belt. Also on a side note the hand brake will not engage any advie thanks in andvance
