I have an 01 Cobra. It has 4.10's and I used to drag race it. (slow!) I now want to road race it more. Are the 4.10's OK or should I drop to say 3.73's. I realize the 4.6l motors need high rev's but are tje 4.10's too much/:lol:
:shrug: Sadly, I blew the engine on my 01 Cobra at a SVTOA event in Sebring yesterday. I was running at 6000 down the backstrech when it let go. My guess is a rod through the oil pan. With a limited budget, what might be done or is preferred from the following:

I want to install 3.90's. FMS does not make them. Motive's I hear are noisey. Pro-5.0 has some new one's. 4.10's are a little much for me. I have them in my 01. 3.73's not enough different. All suggestions and help appreciated.
I know several people have broken the input shaft but has anyone had one twist a tad or be off the spec .009? I have a vibration that we cannot find and I'm wondering if this could be the problem. The tranny has been replaced once and the clutch,etc two other times. I hate to drop the tranny if...
I have an 01 Cobra. I would like to start road racing. What brake rotors etc and tires (make and size)should I consider? Iam running 255/45/17 front and 275/40/17 in the rear.
Finally made the 11's at the NMRA meet this weedend in Bradenton. Best was 11.91. The car has more in it. I lost boost on a not so good 2-3 shift for the 11.91. I am very happy.
Is everyone replacing the flywheel with a Centerforce when new clutch goes in or is a stock flywheel OK. I have 475-500 rwhp and I'm ready to change NOW!
I will be replacing my clutch with an as yet to be determined kit, Spec or Centerforce. What is the = or - of a aluminum vs steel flywheel? Car has 500rwhp and tq is close ti that.
What is the size of each pulley you are using. I have a 100mm but am getting a LOT of belt dust. Looks like major belt slip. I have a 2.8 and dyno at around 490hp.
What should it cost to do a swap with a sraight purchase of parts, new or used. NO exchange for IRS. Am I correct that you have to do some brake work and replace the catback?
What clutch is everyone putting in after the stock one goes? I think I have a lot of slip and probably will have to replace soon. Centerforce a friend tell me is very good. I have also had recomendations for Spec 2's. This is a daily driver. Suggestions appreciated.
Ran a 12.12 at almost 116 at Bradenton on Sunday. Looks like I was about the 14th of 35 fastest in time and most of the faster cars were not daily drivers. Kudo's to Ken and Francisco for running 11.6's but they had live rearends. Got eliminated in the second round by a 10.23 on a 10.23 dial in...
Dyno resuts from last night were 473+ rwhp and 456+tq. Peak to peak hp gain was +33. The Apten held power curve all the way to 6500 where the sock Eaton started to run out of gas at around 5500. Tq also held up better. I'm pretty happy. If I can figure out how to post dyno sheet , I will.
Someone posted that there was something that was needed to be done, not in the instructions, when adding a firewall adjuster. Can someone tell me what that was before I start the install.
