My car is a 2012 premium GT. Working with Bob Utter Ford, I bought the set of parts to convert the manual passenger seat to power. Here is an update on the project.

After the alleged 10K miles where they are known to burn excessive oil...
Changed my oil at 9K and at 12K needed to add half a quart. For my 97GT they were saying a quart every 1000 miles was acceptable or something. Somehow, I feel like this car should be better.

I nailed my front rim on a curb taking a nice chunk out of the rim. The sidewall was damaged but the tire did not lose air. Driving home, I noticed that although the car still felt fine, the steering wheel was not centered. I had the rim welded and refinished (came out nice). They said it...
Yesterday, I was checking the oil and miles between last adding (1 qt per 3300 miles) and I left the key on accessory in the garage. This morning the battery is pretty much drained down. Took the 97 to work. If I jump the car, is this big brother computer going to register that I had my...
I know it is not the best gains of tunes out there. However it is the factory one-keeps warrenty etc. Seems like there are some nice features along with the 60 ft-lb down low. I would like a more normal feel to the throttle and I think it gets rid of that hanging rpm.
What are the...
Dealer called with that lovely info. Parts need to be ordered. They are doing an emergency order. They are also ordering a replacement for the dented resonator. Looks like I will be without my new car for longer than I have had it.

Ordered 10Aug11 arrived 10Oct11. Estimate was 6-8 weeks.
Black premium coupe, saddle leather, 3.73s, brembos, shaker 1000
Put 300+ miles since Monday afternoon. Really love this car. The motor is so flexible. It is such a great all around car. Handles wonderfully. The 3.73s I think...
Original build date was yesterday 29Aug. Checked with the dealer to verify the event. He replied that there was good and bad news. The bad is now it is allegedly going to be built 03Oct and the good news is that it will be delivered 17Oct. Very disappointed.

Sounds like a strange question but I notice a big difference between my D1SC and my old P600B.
With the D1SC if you give the pulley a spin by hand, it will almost immediately stop. You cant even get half a rotation out of it.
With the ole P600B, you can get a few full rotations out from one...
Mark VIII motor
cobra crank
manley rods
diamond 9cc dish pistons

03 cobra exhaust manifolds

Just curious what people see. Indicate if it is the original or a built motor.
I think my motor will need to add after like 2000 miles. It has about 10K on it after rebuild with forged pistons etc.
Currently running 0W30 mobil 1

I tried a plastic cup with disasterous results. Not sure what happened but the result was a face full of nasty oil. I think maybe the cup cracked or something.
How about an elegant method?

Here are a few shots. It was not all that easy to get that thing to fit. I used polished aluminum 4 inch tubing consisiting of 90 degree and 45 degree bends, a small piece of straight on the end of the 45 and a big old K&N filter. I'm running the bypass open so no fitting for that. In one...
Been looking into this. Copying designs-the anderson one uses a big rubber or silicon 4 inch elbow. Others use a 90 degree 4 inch tube. All then use a 4 inch 45 degree bend down into the fenderwell.
Looks like it will stick up a bit and the hood will need trimming under it (even the...
Thinking about running my bypass to atm. Seems like the open hole should be covered with something (even tho there is either a ton of air coming out or the bypass is closed). I would hate it if a snake went up into the system.

Trying to figure out what happened. After dynoing the motor, I drove a few hundred miles and noticed a bunch of oil over the front of the motor. It goes up as high as under the coolant crossover. There really is not much that could leak. I suspect it is the seal on the crank in the front...
I have the following cams that I was told were either 99 or 03 cobra cams
YL7E 6A 271 AB YL7E 6A270 BB Intake
YF3E 6A273 AB exhaust
Do these ring a bell with the new edge?

I have a 4V with a 96-99 timing cover. I have a trigger wheel from a 2000 (the stamped steel kind). The hyland book says that the cover and wheel are not compatible. Looking at it on the engine stand, it seems good. What is the issue (if any?) Also, I am using the later one piece crank...
The current budget from my 4V build is getting thin.
Two sort of deficiencies in my car....stock GT catback and currently have 03cobra exhaust manifolds for the 4V.
Eventually I will be running a D1SC procharger on this.
So it seems like now is the time to do longtubes if any. My choice is...
Need to compile all new stuff for my lincoln motor (93 motor without COP):
What are the round things that seal out the plugs called?
Are there any seals or gaskets on the bolts that hold the covers down?
The only thing I have now is the actual valve cover gaskets.
