So I got my local shoreline/off-road permit. Certain areas can only be accessed if you have a road/reel (and at night if you are actively fishing), so I figure I'd get a fairly cheap rod/reel to use. It'll be saltwater, mostly from the shoreline, but sometimes off a pier. I'd like to stay...

So, I'm finally going to go ahead & get a used 4x4 pickup. It'll be used for traveling/tent camping, driving on the beach and some light off-roading. My price point is roughly $15k. No real preference in regards to compact vs full-size (even though mpg tends to be fairly similar)...
