Original owner here. Still have mine. It mainly sits in the garage with 18k ish miles on it. But for some reason I decided to mod it up this year after leaving it alone for probably 15 years.
I was digging through some old threads and found a few threads about the greatest movie cars, but what about the ones that aren't famous or weren't the star of the show they were in? Here's a list of some lesser known cars I can think of. What are some of of the cars you wish we could have...
Does anybody know how many quarts of fluid the aftermarket diff covers hold? The only one I can find the info for is the Mag Hytec, which is the one I would like but it doesn't fit with my sway bars and Panhard bar. I don't need it for extra strength, just better cooling.
When the 04 F-150 came out I saw one up on a rack at the auto show and it had a finned cast aluminum diff cover on the 9.75" axle. I asked the Ford dealer about it and he said all he had was stamped steel. If you've got one of these trucks, what kind of cover does it have? If it's a finned...
I'm looking for my first Blu Ray player and was wondering what everybody had. I found a Samsung I kinda like, but my last DVD player was a Samsung and I wasn't that thrilled with it. It would play every DVD in the house except Full Metal Jacket. WTF? The DVD worked in everything except that...
I need to replace my Denon receiver and was wanting some thought on what to replace it with. I've been very happy with it, and have been looking at other Denon units (specifically the AVR1912) to replace it. My only real complaints have been that the remote is not user friendly and operation...
I was going to put this in the Chow Hall, but there's more traffic here.
I've got two young men graduating from West Point and Annapolis next month and I need some gift ideas. When they left 4 years ago I knew them alot better than I do now after 4 years of separation, but I still regard them...
I finally bit the bullet and ordered the Hotchkis sways for my truck, which will finally finish the suspension. They were supposed to ship on the 21st, but I called today because I didn't have them and didn't have a tracking number. Apparently Hotchkis is no longer stocking anything, they just...
I went to the track last night for the first time in 2 or 3 years and got a bit of a surprise. My truck was running 2-3 mph faster at the 1/8 mile than it used to, but it was 2-3 mph slower in the 1/4. I was expecting to run around 105-106 in the air we had, but my best mph was 103.6 with most...
I'm thinking about getting a telescope and am trying to decide which one to get. I don't really want to get into astronomy, but there are occasionally things that happen in the sky that I want to look at. Does anyone have any recommendations? Here are two that I am considering:
Orion...
Has anyone else noticed that 10W-40 oil is getting hard to find? I just had to change the oil in my truck and was down to my last 3qts of 10W-40 and I couldn't find any when I went to buy more. I had to get 10W-30, which I can get away with in the winter, but I have a feeling it will be lifter...
You guys said you wanted questions that demanded Google skills and discussion, so here's one in two parts. If you've been to USAF OCS I ask that you wait 24 hours before answering.
Part 1: What early proponent and developer of pursuit aircraft doctrine is known to have scolded people after...
I am fed up with having to juggle 4 remotes and want to get a universal. I was pretty much sold on the Logitech Harmony 1, but I've read many reviews that all say the people have the same problems. That is a small percentage of the people, but enough to make me concerned.
What I need to...
We'll do an easy one this week after a couple of weeks off.
An airplane takes off on a calm day, flies straight south for 100 miles, flies straight east for 100 miles, then flies straight north for 100 and ends up in the same place it started. How is this possible?
As I said, this is sorta aviation related in that the answer is a pilot of historical significance.
At the end of WWII there were three treaties signed signifying the end of the war: one on the deck of the Missouri and two in Europe. There was only one man that was present at all three, who...
I haven't seen a science question of the day for a few days, so here's an aviation question of the day:
The B-17 bomber does not have reversible pitch propellors, but it is still possible for the pilot to back it into a parking space from the cockpit unassisted. How is this done?
Here's the background. I started working at this shop in Sep 2003 as a certified master tech. I put in 5 years of hard work, never missed a single day for anything without requesting it off in advance, was rarely late (you could count the times on one hand and all of them were because of...
This is a good set of tires, over half the tread left, never patched, plugged or otherwise repaired. I upgraded to NT05's and need these out of the garage. $400+shipping or I'll meet you halfway within 100 miles of Tulsa.
