I am looking to getting a set of centerline Qualifiers or Eliminators in 17x7 and 17x??, but am unsure of what rim and what height tire to use for the rear.
I am only stock block, 6lb lower, ported, JLP cai, 2800 Circle D, full weight. About 430/500 on the dyno. Currently I have 305/45/18 MT...
Finally got to the track with some cooler weather with the new converter and tune!
Not sure of the DA for the first two passes on friday night, but on sunday i wrote the weather info on the time slip with a portable weather station.
I am car # 4721
Two back to back runs, running...
Just installed a 2800 stall and truetrac and now the truck vibrates in park at idle.
Didn't notice any vibration in drive idling at first, but i just sat in the truck datalogging the O2's and it vibrates in drive at idle as well.
btw, both rear O2's are not working. Not sure if they are...
Just installed a circle D 2800 stall.
Truck runs great!!! (don't know how people don't like to DD with a big stall...)
I have a few questions though.
The truck now vibrates a lot when in park and idling, but it goes away when in drive and idling. Nothing else has changed, and the tune...
I bought a Detroit trutrac and a Circle D 2800 stall.
Along with a much needed new set of MT ET Street radials!
Should be installed within the next couple of weeks!! Can't wait!!
Sean
hey folks!!
Haven't been on here much, been racin'!!
Having a great season, but the summer weather is killing me!
I installed the JLP intercooler res last year and it definetely works, but i just can't keep it that cold in the 100* heat!
A guy asked if i had ever tried "dry-ice". I...
so i have searched on several forums and sites and have found NO hard evidence if throttle bodies have any actual power increases.
Does anyone have any dyno sheets or anything showing the need or benefit of going from a stock TB to a sbtb (LFP, accufab or any of them).
Sean
I have been researching trying to figure out if i should invest in a bed mounted intercooler resevoir to considerably cool my charge temps while at the track.
I will only be concerned with the bed mount resevoir at the track and i will plan on draining some water and re-packing with ice after...
after a long battle for one little broken bolt, i finally have my baby back together and running smooth!
a few weeks ago I took my truck out of storage and started to get her ready for the summer. little did i know that changing the plugs would turn into a lot of BS, which also taught me a...
i am going to be removing my lower manifold and was wondering if I need to drain all my engine coolant, or any at all?
my main concern is the heater hose at the passenger side as it's a long neck and i don't want coolant entering anywhere when i remove the intake.
any help on the issue...
I currently have the JLP CAI and decided i wanted to block out the hot air from the engine. so i installed another "ram air" tube from the fender wall out to the front of the bumper, i also made a metal plate to go on top of the intake box. i insulated the entire box with dynomat as it can help...
I am having a discussion with a guy at work about what octane gas to run.
He has been stating that I can run 91 octane for one year with no issues to my truck, well at first he was just saying I don't need 94 and can run any octane.
He kept adding conditions and at the end added that Idon't...
as the title states, does anyone have any documented results from using the killer chiller at the track?
Reason i ask is that i am interested in buying one and have not been able to find any hard data on the killer chiller at the track.
There is a video of MMShaggy on youtube running it...
went to grand bend motorplex last night and ran some pretty shitty runs!
2 weeks ago it was 55 degrees out, no humidity, decent track prep, and i had charge temps of about 80-100 degrees. ran my best time ever of [email protected]
last night was a different story! outside temp was about 80...
hey just thought i'd post up my new personal best!
went to grand bend motorplex in sarnia ontario tonight. the track prep was horrible, far lane i couldnt ever hook off the line, or even part way down the track. (used other lane for most of the night!)
temp was about 55 degrees, no...
i just started my baby today after sitting for the winter.
a few hours after i turned the truck off i noticed this white stuff in the exhaust. it was almost like a powder.
does anyone know what this is??
Sean
i was reading motor trend magazine about the new shelby 500 with all the added power and such it has and it listed one of the reasons it has more power is due to being able to raise the timing because it has a knock sensor (to help prevent detonation).
i thought and was told our trucks didn't...
going to install a line lock in the spring and i was wondering what the best brake fluid to use?
how is the ford stock fluid?
does it really matter as i don't race street tracks and i only race about 6-10 times at the strip a year?
Thanks
Sean
gents,
I have been having a possible issue with johnny lightning with a pulley i bought and i was just wondering, since they won't e-mail me back, what is the diameter of a JLP 5lb and 6lb pulley??
hey,
as the title suggests, what is the best line lock to go with for our trucks? easiest to install and has all the needed piping, fittings and wiring??
Any info would be great!!
Thanks,
Sean
decided it was time to put her away, so i figured i'd take a few pics to share:
here is her new home!! (bought a house with an insulated and heated garage)
laid down carpet, then the car bag
decided this year to jack her up just so the suspension isn't taking the full weight...
i was at the bridge in sarnia today crossing over to port huron michigan and i saw a black lightning 2 cars in front of me. as we go through he stops at duty free, so i do the same so i can met this guy and talk about the trucks.
well he gets out of his truck as i'm backing up beside him. i...
i'm not sure if many of you followed my "spring mods" thread, but i had done a fair bit of mods this spring to my truck!
link:
http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/showthread.php?t=477141
the results from JJ's tune were 424rwhp and 499ft/lbs-torque on 14 degrees of timing on sunoco ultra 94...
a stock late 90 to early 2000 Z71 running in 4x low.
OR
a 2001 lightning, 6# lower, ported blower, M/T ET streets, traction bars, makin 430hp and 500ft/lbs at the wheels.
both vehicles will be tied to each others trailer hitch, then pull.
who do you think would win?
anyone have any videos?
So I went to the track Friday night to test my new mods and see just how much difference the 6lb lower, ported blower, SCT2600, heat exchanger, M/T ET streets and a tune from JJ would make.
Well….i went slower!!!
I don’t understand it.
I don’t have my dyno graphs scanned on the computer...
