The biggest issue I see here is weight. What do these gt500 rotors weigh? I love the idea, as I love big brakes. I currently run the 14" brembo GT kit, basically the 14" FTBR kit. I want a bigger rear kit, however I don't want solid rotor due to weight. And something tells me switching to a 2pc...
I run a 14" brembo GT kit, factory rear brakes in the rear. Will eventually switch to a FTBR 13" rear kit but so far so good.
Make sure you are wearing your seat belt the first time you slam on the brakes after breaking them in. Mine will toss you through the windshield.
One of the best...
There are a couple of write ups on here and elsewhere that say how far to space it. I went exactly as they said but I can tell you after putting a laser alignment tool on it it was way off. So I adjusted to line up. Not much factory left on my car so maybe something else was off, who knows. But...
Well damn, that sucks. Hope they can hop on it as soon as it arrives.
Can confirm, the roush 3v tensioner is the business. Just make sure you get a good laser alignment tool to space it correctly. I spaced mine like I read to and it was off almost a whole rib
Easy answer, 2.3 tvs. For a street car, especially on 91/93, this blower is king. I don't have a 3.0 but I do have a gen 4 2.9 crusher and i can tell you the 2.3 has more snap in it. With that being said the 2.9 on a 10.5:1 e85 motor is rowdy
FYI our set ups are almost identical, except I have a built Longblock at 10:1 comp. Todd's cams, gen 4 crusher, headers with 3" catback and a 3.25 pulley. Makes right at 20 lbs. No power numbers yet buy I can tell you, even on 15* timing, this thing is violent. Still working on the tune but I'm...
Got ya. How much fluid does that Harpel tank hold?
Just a word if advice, run a little coolant in that system. It will help keep everything lubed and prevent corrosion. And keep an eye on outside temps with just water, you don't want to burst the i/c. I know h-town doesn't get below freezing...
Glad you got it figured out. What i/c core are you running?
Curious why you needed the bypass? If it's been mentioned elsewhere I apologize. Also interested in the results once you get some data. These cooling threads are always interesting to follow.
Haven't logged enough yet to know. Honestly I just hated the trunk tank and all the routing. Shorter run but the tank is mow in the engine bay which is hot so who knows
With running just water it's perfect, the more coolant you add the more bubbles you get, same thing with my trunk tank previously.
J2fab underhood tank, j2fab modified IC and VMP gt500 HE
I have mine on the passenger side, similar to where the stock pump is. These pics are tough as mine is all back together but maybe you can see.
As for performance, so far so good
I remember when you bought Kevin's old set up. I looked hard at those when he was selling, even when you were selling. Just didn't like the tall rear tire. When/if the time comes you'll be the first to know. It would be easy too since you in FL, we could just meet up
Yes. Hard to get a pic but...
Agree, I just completely forgot about injectors during the build. I hate being limited by something like that.
At those point i just want to drive it and enjoy it
