From what I've read it's based on the Escape platform. 37mpg overall on the hybrid- I wish I could get one right now with these gas prices.... I mean I love driving a full size truck but I sure don't enjoy the fuel costs.

If you're talking about adding tension to the cable after you've already cut the plate then yes, you should release the clutch pedal prior. It's possible you just did not hear the click or that the cable is already tight enough. I recommend driving it and see how the clutch is working. If...

Coolant will dry up in a few days usually but if it dried up quick with no residue, it must have been condensate from the A/C.

Put your hand back there and see it it's wet. If coolant leaked out of that head port overnight you should still be able to feel something slippery back there the next morning.
