I realize that. You're still paying for all of this stuff and you're still forking over your liberties by buying one. There's a reason cars aren't $30k anymore.
Life has become so easy people are willing to pay extra to fork over their freedoms. Yeah, you save a tiny bit of money on your car insurance but you paid out the nose at the dealer for the system that reports everything to your overlords.
Getting spotless water isn't expensive. All you need is a DI tank hooked directly up to your hose and a garden sprayer on the other end and you have spotless water. This one was $120 on Amazon this morning. A Youtuber did a review of it last week and they've been fluctuating in and out of...
Finished plumbing my deionized wash cart.
Active ve52 pressure washer
uberflex hose
McKillans gun
Prefilters
Mixed resin canister
MJJC Foam canon
Quick disconnects on every hose on the house
Carbon and sediment prefilters
Now everything I need is onboard and can be hooked up fast via quick...
The auto industry killed off street racing by making everything amazing and fast. Kids have no incentive to buy and modify cars when damn near every car on the road runs 11s and your 60 year old grandma can eat everyone’s lunch in her Tesla. On the rare occasion you do find a likeminded...
There are plenty of high end tools that are affordable. Wright tools are criminally underrated. A $188 11 piece set of Wrights will go toe to toe with a $630 Snap-on set (see videos below)
I use the following:
Wright Wrenches
Wera laser etched screw drivers
Bondhus, Wiha, Beta allens

What cars are running at that event?
I wish it wasn't such a long drive from here. Their campground is one of the most beautiful I've ever stayed at and I'd love to camp there during events.
We raced there in 2017 and the staff was openly talking about how litigation was bleeding them dry back then. It's a legit legal tactic that needs to stop. We go back in October, I can't wait.
The billable hours in the manual for CTS-V's are pretty high. That's one of the reasons the used market gets flooded with them after the bumper to bumpers expire. I have to replace the fuel pump fittings. 2 hours of that job is removing interior pieces to get to the rear shocks to drop the...
The CTS-V wagon requires backhalving the entire interior from the front seats back. Even the back seats and carpet have to come out to access the upper shock nut.
The alternator is even worse. Front bumper, lights, heat exchangers, radiator, fans, steering pump, intake, air box, throttle body...
I took my son to a brewery Thursday night for dinner and looked around. There were 18 groups of people inside and only 4 of them were actually talking to each other. The rest were staring at their phones. I know the numbers because I bumped into a friend there and we actually counted. One of...
That gameboy you referenced is technology. Being glued to the TV watching news....technology.
Obesity has skyrocketed. Depression has skyrocketed. General happiness by polling is down. The general connection with society is down. There are very real correlations with the gig economy...
Much harder overall. There's an illusion that it's easier and that we are all happier but much of life's problems are entirely due to or made worse by technology.
Might as well title this thread, who won the lottery? I'm 48 and uninsured. I pay out of pocket for everything but am screwed if something catastrophic happens.
AC Delco is a reputable brand....there are two in that box that I paid full retail for and they didn't accept the return:
They've sent me the wrong parts on more than one occasion as well. I go elsewhere now for parts.
I'm at about a 30% hit rate for Rock Auto parts actually working right now. Alternators for instance.....I had to order three before I got one that actually worked. I have a hard time recommending them to anyone at this point.
