    Too much power?

I have a 3.2 pulley, magnaflow x-pipe, FR 500 catback, and a K&N cone filter. It sure seems like the car moves faster than my driving skills can handle; especailly for street driving. In the rain it sure seems like I'm doing burnouts a lot and the traction control really bogs the car down. On...

Anyone fix "tick" in San Jose, CA area?

I have the infamous tick and want to get it fixed but don't want my car to be the first 03 Cobra head replacement done by the dealership. Has anyone in this general area had the tick noise fixed? If so which dealership did it and which service advisor did you deal with? I'm willing to travel...

    K&N for crankcase breather

People have posted that unmetered air due to an open air crankcase breather may cause a lean condition; however, I am not certain this will occur. A concern of mine with the stock crankcase ventilation system is that oil from the crankcase vent may carbonize on the throttle body and...

    CAI vs. hot air intake

I have had a K&N FIPK cone filter that is made for a 2001 Cobra on for almost 6 months. The K&N filter came with a cheap piece of sheetmetal for use as a heat shield that would not block out any heat so I never installed it. Yesterday, I received my Steeda CAI and installed it on my car. Yes...

Has anyone polished the machined (non-chrome) stock rims?

The chrome rims are too bright and flashy for my taste. Has anyone polished the plain jane factory rims? I am wondering if polishing the rims would still allow me to have the machined lines or if polishing the rims would wear down some of the lines. I am looking for uniformity and a way to...

? for those who have changed their clutch

I have changed my clutch out once on this beast and am considering installing another clutch. The Centerforce unit I am looking at is the dual friction setup. The pressure plate has three sets of straps which attach to the driven portion of the plate with rivets. Each set of straps has three...

    smaller blower pulley=better mileage?

I changed my blower pulley a while back to the 3.2" and have never really watched my mileage. This last week I've been doing a lot of around town driving and it sure seems like my gas mileage is better than when the car was new. I have no mileage numbers to justify my suspicions but it sure...

    Do vendor's products carry warranties?

With the Billetflow pulley issue, I have become concerned about aftermarket product warranties. The blower idler pulley flying around the engine compartment uncontrolled can do some serious damage to our cars. Will Billetflow or the vendor cover the consequential damages caused by the product...

    Dayco, Goodyear, Gates, serpentine belt

I have a 3.2" pulleyand a 4080745 Goodyear Gatorback belt on that has developed light cracks around the entire inner surface where the grooves are. Concerned about these light cracks, I took the belt off and brought it to my local parts store. The parts counterman was really nice and ordered...

light cracks on my Goodyear Gatorback belt

I have a 3.2" pulley and the Goodyear Gatorback 4080745 belt which have been on my car for a few months. The belt is showing some light cracks on the inner grooves. I don't like the look of the cracks and am going to change the belt. After reading a little on the different brands readily...

Raybestos (ceramic fronts & PG plus rears)

I got a couple of private messages asking about the brakes I posted about a while back so I thought I would make one general post to address my experience with Raybestos pads and Autospecialty rotors. The factory rear pads make the rear wheels and rear of the car turn black pretty quickly...

    Great front brake pads

The Raybestos PGD412QS ceramic brake pads are great. I broke down and bought the $115.00 set of pads from Kragen and have had them on for a few weeks now. I have driven the car down hills hard, had a couple of fast stops off the freeway and find that the pads don't fade, squeal, or dust...

    Problem when downshifting into 3rd

I've noticed that downshifting into 3rd gear, from 4th, is difficult. The shifter won't go into 3rd. I have to step on the clutch again and again at different rpm's and jam the shifter into 3rd. Upshifting from 2nd to 3rd is no problem though. Does anyone else have this problem?

    Squeaky front brakes

I have aftermarket Autospecialty cross-drilled rotors with the factory front brake pads. I installed the rotors when my car only had 80 miles on it so I re-used the factory pads. Now I have almost 3,000 miles on the car and sometimes get a squeal from the driver's side, front brakes. Does...

Where do I run wires through the firewall?

I have the autometer pillar, fuel pressure gauge, and voltmeter mounted. Now I need to pass the connector and wires through the firewall to connect the fuel pressure gauge to the sending unit. I am wondering where everybody has passed the connector through the firewall at? Any ideas will be...

Why is everyone putting on license plates?

Sure it's illegal not to run plates, but why rush to put them on? Going accross toll booths in the Fast-Track lane without paying toll will get your picture taken and a ticket will be sent to you but if you don't have plates, you won't get sent a ticket. If you unfortunately run a red light...

Don't be scared to post the truth!!!!

I have read a few posts in here where people have written about very poor service and outright lies from some dealerships only to have the posts deleted later due to fears of libel and slander lawsuits. Libel and slander lawsuits are based on false and defamatory statements. If you are posting...

Who has been successful with the lemon law on their 03 Cobra?

Problems have risen and tempers are flaring over issues which Ford is slow at tackling. High speed vibrations, stiffer than hell clutches, clutch chatter, pulling to the right and a host of other conditions that seem to occur over and over again. I lemoned an older GT Mustang and Ford fought...

How much money did you put into mods?

Today I calculated my mods and figured that I have almost $3,000.00 into mods alone. I can't see that much but the money is in there. From an investment point of view, this car sucks. What a sinkhole; however, every time I drive the car, I forget how much money I put into the car and just...

Nor. Cal. Hwy 280 between S.S.F. and Hwy 92

If you cruise this area between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. (after the morning commute and before the evening commute) you will find some wild races. Mostly Europeans: S4's, M3's, Porsche's are tearing up the roads. I raced an M3 from 30mph up to almost 140mph and beat him by a few car lengths...

Gurgling noise from the exhaust on deceleration

I have had my Magnaflow X-pipe with cats and the FR-500 catback on for a while now and have gotten used to the sounds it makes. Today I drove next to a stock 03 Cobra, it still had no license plates, and I could hear the gurgling noise it made as we slowed down. I now vaguely remember that my...

I like driving in the drone zone!!!

I've read a lot of posts in which some people hate the drone which occurs in the 1800-2000 rpm range with aftermarket cat-backs. Personally I kind of like the drone and sometimes drive in that rpm range just to get the drone. Kind of nuts as I'm aging and did not want a loud exhaust system...

    tri-ax installed and quiet

I read so many posts about the tri-ax shifter being noisy that I decided to use all of the stock insulation with the tri-ax shifter and also insulated the shifter to handle with rubber. The rubber I used is cut out from a piece of rubber from a jar opener which I bought for less than $1.00 from...
