Yep. If you are doing headers and are planning to replace K member, definitely do them at the same time. Look at K member options carefully. Harbor Freight has an effective engine brace which is quite cost effective.
Thanks for link and the ten minute heads up. I am now subscribed to that channel. I liked the miniature teaser 2650. The unicorn now has a carrot dangling in front of it. I purchased the dual fuel pump and id1000 kit on the black Fri. sale in 2016 in preparation of this release. I may have to...
For the GT500...Is this a mythical unicorn. For over a year I heard that the release would be late third or early fourth quarter of 2017. Nothing. Heard SEMA. Nothing. I have now heard first or second quarter of 2018. I am thinking mythical unicorn. 2.9 and be done with all the waiting?
I also chased this code through the gamut of possibilities. Ended up data logging and found the tune was too hot for octane support available. Any change that you made could have changed things just enough or fuel may have changed for the winter blend. I would data log and have tuner check...
Original here as well. 6500 on the clock. Since you are used to making a payment, how about helping with mine. I am sure you would not miss a thing and I would really appreciate it. Just trying to help you out and keep you in the payment rhythm.
I am sure BJ was being intentionally cryptic. No doubt he was inferring for this year. What big auto trade show is coming up? That is when you will see or hear more on this. VMP keep working smartly on this product.
Thanks. I have looked up weight and found the unit is supposedly 7.5 lbs. I am only looking to remove the passenger side. Maybe have passengers sign a waiver. haha
I have been wondering this myself. I cannot get myself to do this mod as I am too concerned of the negative impacts to vehicle. My want to perform this is mainly weight loss. After installing my headers, I noticed that the largest share of weight loss (8 lbs.) would be from swapping to lighter...
Even with 3.90 gears you can achieve 255mph in 6th @6K rpm. We are by no means gear limited for mph. So 3.73 would help a 1/2 mile run. Seriously, do not fear the gear. Snoopy has a chart for gear choice.
3.73
3.90
4.10
4.56
I do have gear whine, but it way secondary to stereo, exhaust and supercharger whine. So..... bring it on. The performance outweighs any and all detriments of additional drivetrain noises. I had more noise introduced from lower control arm/torque arm/watts link installation. Gear noise happens...
With 3.73 the 6th gear is finally useful. 89 mph at 2000 rpm vs. 1750 rpm for stock gears. This also helps shed light that this is not a crazy short gear. Even with 4.10 gears the 6th gear mph at 2000 rpm is 81. Do not fear the gear.
My current setup is a little over 700 whp. Car has never felt...
Thanks for feedback on this. Gives me pause about the issue. What about removing them and replacing with nothing? Is their any weight to these things? I would rather lose weight than eat shrapnel.
Changed to 3.73. I really like it. I wanted 3.90's but was warned against for noise issues. If I were to do it over I still would consider 3.90's. No concerns negative on 3.73 choice. Great gear for the car.
Well I am not one of the preferred mentioned to answer but they have very similar ratios between crank and SC, so very close to same result. Some have claimed slightly higher torque with the lower but the main benefit may be the amount of belt contact available with the stock upper and larger...
This is the combo that I run. I see at times 20 psi. As long as your tune is matched for combo I would suspect there would not be a problem. I was trying to achieve the same as a 15% lower. This is as close as I could obtain. I also have 67mm VMP TB as well as other items. Never dyno'd. Only...
After installing some Kooks headers 1 7/8 I would recommend 1 3/4". Too tight for installation. No power loss from 1 3/4. May even see higher tq. with 1 3/4". Ease of install is probably the Dynatech then Stainless Works followed by ARH and Kooks. I opted for Kooks as they appeared to have the...
I went with the FRPP springs. As already noted they dropped roughly an inch to 1.25 from the rear and supposedly .4" from the front. I feel that they are softer than the stock springs and springs can generally be identified for there stiffness by the size of wire and number of coils. The 5300L...
I saw the Strano link and referenced 5 lbs., but did not know which bar they were referring to as they referenced the 20,22,24, 25 and 26mm bars (all solid). Our cars run the 25mm bar with 250 lb. rating and the Strano bar shows 225 lb. at the "highest" setting. Thanks for reply.
Best info I could find was from this site.
FRPP appears much better. It has been the only filter I use. I have not seen a leaking issue.
