My '99 had the ABS light come on. I took it to Ford after trying to troubleshoot it myself. Their results were the same as the first part of the video -- no communication. They wanted $1400 for a new control module (on the trans hump under the radio). I removed the ECU (just like the last...
I put one on my ‘99. No tune. It was a bear to get the EGR hooked back up but it fit. I think it was a 1/4” spacer. Not huge gains but the one benefit was seeing how much oil was getting into the intake. I ordered my Bob’s oil separator soon after that.
I agree w/all that has been mentioned already and add that I hated either seeing the connectors or touching the connectors but not both at the same time. Good luck.
I got mine from American Muscle for $169 (free shipping). There are multiple versions of the DW300M so if you order from somewhere else you need to make sure you get the correct one. AM makes it easy.
That's pretty loud. It definitely sounds like it's coming from the top end. On my '99 I had a similar sound but not as loud. I got a stethoscope from HF and went poking around. When I touched the oil pan bolts the noise was not as loud as when I touched the cam cover bolts on the passenger...
do you need the wheel bearing or the spindle? The spindles aren't interchangeable between the sides. If you need the wheel bearings, I have a used set. My '03 had a shimmy so I replaced the wheel bearings but the shimmy didn't go away so the wheel bearings I took off are good. 47K miles on them.
Just a 20' runabout. Four Winns Horizon 200. I'm looking into surf boats now -- my mind is still willing to ski but my body says otherwise. Getting old sucks but it's better than the alternative!
It will be great for boat outings: Used as a cooler while taking our boat out and could also function as a stout dry bag on excursions during a cruise (really a ship, not a boat).
I sent the module off my ‘99 to cheapabs.com and that took care of it. There’s a bad connection in the abs module that the guy fixes. The stealership wanted to replace the module under the radio for ~$1200 since I had the communication error mentioned above.
This is going to sound odd, but it was suggested to me a long time ago and it worked on a leak I had on a motorcycle I used to have...
If you can clean the area you have oil on (all the oil has to be cleaned off for it to work well) then spray the kind of jock-itch that leaves a powder residue...
