Finally took the Mach 1 to the track - VMP supercharger content + carnage

With the 2.7 upper and 6# lower I saw 26# on initial hit. However it was dropping entire run and on my last pass, it was down to about 16# in 4th gear when I got over 6,000 rpms, I shift it around 6,500. I have the Gates Fleet (green) belt on it now and may give it a try. In my experience it...

Finally took the Mach 1 to the track - VMP supercharger content + carnage

What's your opinion on belt type I should use? For years I have run Goodyear Gatorback, Continental, and Gates Fleet (Green) belts. My recent track outing was with the Gatorback belt. I've already got a new upper pulley for the VMP - went from 2.7 to a 2.9 to slow it down some. I also have a 4#...

Finally took the Mach 1 to the track - VMP supercharger content + carnage

Thanks! I'd like to try those to see how the car responds. I think these Hoosiers are old and just not the best choice at the track with this car. With an auto they might be better. I ordered a larger upper pulley from griptec (2.9 compared to my 2.7) to slow the blower down some and give a...

Finally took the Mach 1 to the track - VMP supercharger content + carnage

1st time with this car at the track. Not very good launches (best was in the 1.80's) but did run 6.80's in 1/8th at 108 and 10.40's in 1/4 @ 138. Shredded a belt at 1,000 foot on the last pass and destroyed my upper pulley. I believe I'm overspinning the 2.3 which is the culprit. You can...

What did you do to your foxbody mustang today?

Agreed. It's amazing how jaded you become riding in faster cars by today's standards compared to what was "fast" in the late 1980's! It's the only car I own that I can flat-foot the throttle and be in complete control without any fear of spinning the tires. LOL.

What did you do to your foxbody mustang today?

Recently put my 1987 Fox on E85 and dyno'd it. Made 231hp and 275tq with 18* initial timing, Autolite 24 plugs, 27# injectors (out of an old 2006 mustang GT project), and 190lph fuel pump. It also has the A9L computer. Mods to the car are cobra intake, 70mm t/b, Pro-M 75mm mass air, shorty...

    Car Show Etiquette

About 10 years ago I stopped going to car shows. Between the kids/adults rubbing up against, touching car, trying to lean into window, underhood, etc it became more stressful for me than fun. Plus there's always the hilarious part of listening to people tell their buddies about my car/mods and...

What happened to races on the street?

Back in the day I did my share of street racing..... still do from time to time. But with the population explosion, housing subdivisions everywhere, and generally more traffic on the roads, it's difficult to find a good "race spot". My daughter (16) has zero interest in hanging out in my garage...

    Medusa Version 3.0 (New Build)

Already got a set on the car, but thanks!

    Medusa Version 3.0 (New Build)

Wow that was not the expected update! I'd also push for keeping the chassis, it's got a lot of history and you will regret selling it. I sold my TTSaleen in 2014 and bought it back in 2018. Having owned the car since 2002, it felt like a piece of the family was missing. Good luck in your...

Got the TTSaleen back on the dyno

Latest update on the TTSaleen and probably last one for the year. 1100rwhp and 900rwtq. Still not maxed out as it has some slight spark blowout on the 30# pull. Ryan

My other car - 1968 Dodge Charger - Hemi swapped

Thanks. Yes I joined in early 2000 right when I bought my first SVT vehicle. It was a 2000 Red Ford Lightning F150 (hence the name). LOL. Most sites my name is either 98saleen or TTSaleen.

My other car - 1968 Dodge Charger - Hemi swapped

I don't post much about my other cars, but I thought some of you might like this video of my 1968 Charger. I put the Charger on the dyno yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised when it made 335hp and 390tq at the wheels. The stock camshaft is all done by 5,200 rpms so that might be a change I...

Got the TTSaleen back on the dyno

Yeah I've not been on the track with this car in 3 years since I broke the 6R80 on my last (and fastest pass to date) when it went a 5.80 in 1/8th. That pass is in my opening intro when I race my buddy in the Sonic Blue Cobra. I'm hoping for mid-5's in the 1/8th at full weight (it's 3,800 right...

Got the TTSaleen back on the dyno

It made 954hp and 832tq on the pull where it actually didn't have any issues. The problem is when I tried to add more boost, at first I had spark blowout so I tightened up the gap and fixed that. But on next pull the inlet pipe to my throttle body pulled apart and dumped boost still making...

Got the TTSaleen back on the dyno

Got the TTSaleen on they dyno since I've made a bunch of changes in the last 2 years. Rebuilt engine, new injectors and fuel system, new Holley Terminator X computer system, E85 conversion, and Turbo 400 transmission.

Took the wife for a ride and she was mad!

My wife hasn't rode in my car in a while. I've recently put the TH400 in it and it's pretty fast on the street. She was "reacquainted" with the car very quickly. LOL. Combo - 5.4 4-valve head modular with twin 67mm turbos.

Nice project. I can appreciate you making the car your own. Looking forward to the progress.

    Lets see those trucks!

Quick update on my 2016 F150. I decided on the Banks Pedal Monster adapter to test out and see if it made a noticeable difference in my trucks "seat of the pants" acceleration and throttle response. After seeing Banks video on why their product is better than other designs, I was convinced...

    Lets see those trucks!

It made a noticeable difference in takeoff and shifting. I have been told that the trucks are different from the cars in how they respond to the drive by wire feeling of acceleration. Have you reset your throttle pedal / throttle position lately? - Turn key to ON (push button once) but don't...

    Lets see those trucks!

Yes. You'll need a deeeeep socket to tighten it up fully or gear wrench but otherwise it will work fine. Ride quality is the very same, just slightly lower which makes it look level (the look I was wanting). I have a video about it on my Youtube page.

    Lets see those trucks!

I've seen these go anywhere from $25k to $38K depending on miles. I got a great deal on mine as I bought it from a family member for under $25K. She bought it brand new in 2016. It has 24k miles, the Equipment Group 701A Luxury (Technology Package, Lane-Keeping System, 360 camera w/split-view...

    Lets see those trucks!

Just picked up a new addition. 2016 F150 Platinum - 5.0L I've done the following quick mods - - SCT Tune - K+N filter - Removed rear block from leaf springs (dropped 1.25 inch). - Installed 2008 F150 Harley Davidson wheels and Nitto tires (285-45-22). - Installed Flowmaster catback exhaust. -...
