Summary of Warranty work for TOB and Head Ticking

My turn for some warranty work. Took the car in yesterday morning for the head tick and for a chirping TOB. Got a rental, first time in a newer Taurus, not a bad ride for a sedan. Picked up the car last night after hours, so I didn't get a chance to ask the tech any questions, but here's what...

    Installed Quadrant from Forte's

Night and Day difference between the new one and the stock quadrant. I can't believe I waited this long to put one in. The install went pretty smooth, about an hour. Had to use a dremel to open the f/w hole a bit for the f/w adjuster, also had to shave a little off the adjuster collar so it...

    Colgan Bra Pictures

It took a bit to get the straps right, still has some wrinkles to work out. I thought it would look worse, but it kinda matches the top.

How many of you drive both 5 and 6 speeds daily?

Have you ever thought R stands for "Race"? Nothing worse than downshifting to 3rd to pass someone, then after passing them, casually bumping reverse, thinking that I'm dropping it into 6th. Bzzzzttttt. Yeah, I'm cool. :rollseyes Too bad the T45 doesn't have a reverse lockout like the T56...

I hate being treated like an idiot!

I want to put some GM Synchromesh into my T56, hopefully this will smooth things out a bit. Unfortunately, I don't have the time or the tools to properly change/flush the fluid, so I thought I would leave it to the so called experts, ha! I called one of the local chain shops and asked them...

    Thank you Mother Nature :(

46 degrees out this afternoon, decided to take Cobra to the Family's Easter Dinner. I sure do love Wisconsin weather. :xpl:  But, on the bright side, it did give me a chance to put on another coat of Z-2 :coolman: Too bad the sun wasn't out when I took these, oh well.

Anyone with pics of a Colgan Bra?

I'm going a 1,500 mile road trip and I want to put a bra on. I plan on going with a Colgan bra, but I can't decide between the standard black or the carbon fiber look. http://www.colgancustom.com/carbon.asp I'm only going to use it for long trips, and definately not in any rain (if it...

    Forte's Clutch Quadrant

Has anybody tried one of these? http://www.fortesparts.com/quadrant.cfm It looks like it will do the trick. I like the aggressive release geometry, it just looks fast. Or should I just stick with the trusted UPR setup? And is this the correct part from UPR...

    Diapers Rule

The first time I read about people using diapers to dry their car I thought it was some sort of a bad joke. “Damn, wouldn’t that be *really* bad for the clearcoat?” Then I finally saw the light, not disposables, dumb@ss. Today was the first time I ever used them, bought a dozen by Gerber...

    Adjustable quadrant kit from Forte's

I've done some research and I'm pretty sure a new quandrant kit will help my shifting (right now, it starts to engage about an inch off the floor). I've looked at kits from Steeda and others, but they seem pricey and tricky to install. This shouldn't involve rocket science and dremels, and for...

Top has a little wrinkle in it

Does anyone else with a vert have any wrinkles in it? I have a couple of them over the center of the rear support bar (just fore of the rear window). I usaully keep the top up when I'm not driving it. The only thing else I've done to it was treat it with Raggtop, but I don't think that's it...

    Headlights - Rotating Bezel?

Went to the Milwaukee Auto Show last night on the spur of the moment (forgot to take my camera with me :bash: ) and got to take a nice long look at the new beast. Has anyone else seen the headlights up close? I noticed a small gear somewhat hidden behind a cover (about 1" in area) that...

Shucks, I have to go run another errand… (car alarm question)

“Honey, could you pick up our pictures from Wal-mart?” “Um, OK!” *vrooom* *vrooom* *screech* “Here you go, anything else?” “Oh yeah, I forgot, we’re almost out of toilet paper.” “No problem.” *vrooom* *vrooom* *screech* "Wanna go for a drive?" "No, I've got a paper to write" "Okay, then...

    Looking for diecast model 03

I know it's early yet, just hoping. Does anyone know how long it takes for toy manufacturers to release models. I have a 1:24 black cobra sitting on top of my monitor here at work, but I would kill for a SB vert.

    Finally got the boot!

But apparently, it's the wrong one. This one covers up the rear seats, rendering them useless. It also takes at least 10 minutes to install and involves "wedging" plastic flaps between the fender and the trim. I'm worried that I'm scratching the paint, it might work ok on freshly waxed paint...

    Dynomax Catback installed

This is what I've been waiting for, it finally sounds like a mustang. It drones a little between 1800 and 2000 rpms, but not too bad. I've only got one good sound clip with the new kit (see sig), if it stop's raining today, I might record a couple more.

    Turning Heads!

Wow! I’m not use to turning so many heads! My previous sports car was a black ‘69 Camaro in decent shape and a nice sounding exhaust and I seldom received a second look. Now I get thumbs all around, tons of second looks, and endless compliments. I even get an occasional soccer mom asking me...

    No Boot!

Are these things supposed to come with a boot to cover the top when folded down? I've searched this car high and low and cannot seem to find one. Are they only available as aftermarket items? If my dealer forgot to include it, then it's just one more thing to add to the list of gripes I...

    Spoke too soon!

Earlier today, I raved about how great this car is, but now I've got a small problem. I'm cruising down some back roads with the top down, not racing hard or anything, just out having fun. I start slowing down for the upcoming stop sign, and notice that the brakes are not responding. I...

    Gas Pedal Travel

Is it just me, or does the floor carpeting seem to hinder the gas pedal at WOT? When I get home tonight, I'm going to have my wife open it up (with the car off of course!) and see if the throttle really opens up all the way or not. I was thinking about tying a couple zip ties around the...

    I can't wait any longer!

It's time for me to start hitting the pavement and to take my business elsewhere. I ordered a Sonic Blue vert (no chrome) on Feb. 11th from a dealer in Chicago. I was told that I was the second on "the list". Every couple weeks, I make a phone call, only to find out that I still don't have a...
