We have a trak racer rig and fanatec gear for my son. I play around on his iracing account and it’s pretty darn realistic.
I say if anyone is marginally into racing video games this is the best way to experience them.

He did great for his first time in this car. It’s so very different from the quarter midgets. He went from a 1/20th of a mile track to a 4/10ths!
He qualified 21st out of 25 cars yesterday. Ran some really good lap times in the race but didn’t finish. He pulled in the pits under green because...
Paxton has his first bandolero race tomorrow. Check it out if you have racing America tv! He races tomorrow at 8ish and Saturday at 5. There are 230 total cars registered for this race and 30 in our class.

They definitely don’t accelerate as hard as our other cars but they’ll do about 75 mph on the straights on a larger track. Our local tracks are Wake County Speedway and Southern National Motorsports Park if you wanted to check out what our home tracks will look like. Paxton averaged 66 mph in...
Thanks! We found out about that learning curve the hard way today practicing for his first race. Never want to leave the track on a forklift [emoji23]

I haven’t updated this thread in a while and after a solid two years in the sport we are about to move on. After a very successful rookie year in 2022, we made a move this year from Maryland to North Carolina and raced a variety of tracks along the way. Paxton has progressed very well despite...
I had a few people tell me that you couldn’t give them a LS7 powered car and others say they beat theirs to death with zero issues. I guess it’s just a roll of the dice but I plan to enjoy the car and hopefully I’m not another statistic.
Thanks for all the advice everyone. The cylinder head thing freaks me out a little but I knew that going into it. This one has had the heads fixed so fingers crossed it’s all good.
@ArabianOak any other advice? Any reason not to put a cam in it?
It has a tick performance clutch master cylinder as well, I heard that was a common issue.
After many years and many variants of mustang ownership I finally decided to see what the other side was about and bought a Z06. Its a 2007 Ron Fellows edition with 15k miles. The car is very impressive to drive and I wish I had made the move to buy one sooner before prices went crazy. I was...
I don’t think dirt is boring in general, it’s just not meant for those cars. My son runs quarter midgets on both dirt and pavement . The pavement is faster, the dirt takes a better driver. Both have their pluses and minuses.
Meh. He didn’t break any rules. I say good for him. My kid races and when we need to make a transfer spot I have no problem telling him to either get it up there balls out or wreck it trying. As long as you aren’t a danger to other drivers wreckers or checkers lol.
We ran both cars this past weekend and threw Paxton to the wolves with two full days of 8 separate 25 lap features (in rookie he ran 8 or 15). He did great, finishing 7 of the 8 races (got dq’d once in the new yellow car for spinning out 3 times). He finished 3rd out of 7 in the junior Honda...
