Cant find a new ford alternator. I can however find a re-manufactured ford unit at my local ford parts counter.

Battery light comes on during revs. Just installed a new optima red top. The light is still coming on with revs. I assume that it must be my alternator. It seem as there is no clear consensus on which way I should go from here. Please give me some advice.

When I take off going forward or in reverse I hear a "pop,pop,pop" or "tink,tink,tink" sound coming from my driver side rear wheel area. It goes away after the first 2 or 3 "pops" or 'tinks". It does not persist as I drive unless torque up slightly, then it "pops or "tinks" only 1 or 2 times...
