Need some help with a 96’ Cobra with QuickTime Bell housing and TKO600. When I first purchased the car the previous owner thought the transmission needed rebuilt. I discovered the firewall adjuster was installed backwards. I flipped it, and installed an OEM clutch cable… car drove and...
About a year ago I purchased new NT555 tires for my Cobra with 18x9 Cobra R wheels. I was worried about rub and bought 245/40/18 for the front, but they are too narrow and I hate how it looks. What would be a better size NT555 for the front wheels that would fit better (width)?
The only things that stood out to me were:
1. The Bank 2 02 Sensor data it seemed consistently low across the board compared to Bank 1. I believe it may be an exhaust leak at the header to midpipe connection.
2. Cylinder 5 and 7 logged a single misfire each.
3. The Knock Sensor Retard Limit...
Over the last week I have been driving the Cobra more frequently, it's got a Stage 2 P-1SC with a 3.9 pulley, and I noticed I'm normally right around 6 psi, it briefly hit 7 psi but never higher. The last time I took it out, I got 5 psi. Though the amounts were different, the ramp rate was...
My 96’ Cobra was purchased with a VMP blow through MAF setup, and I noticed the IAT sensor is still plugged into the power pipe.
Can I wire the IAT harness directly to the slot style MAF sensor to integrate the IAT and if so what is the proper way to do this? If not will I just have to add a...
Bought the car a year and a half ago (1996 Cobra with Procharger P-1SC) but haven't put more than maybe 100 easy miles on it as I have been working on it and busy with life. I finally got around to doing an oil change and this is what I found:
The engine isn't knocking at any RPM, no...
I currently own a 96' Cobra with Procharger P-1SC, which is my first with a centrifugal supercharger and the associated intercooler and piping. It has BBK LT headers, to BBK Off-Road H-Pipe, and stainless 40 series with dumps. While the car doesn't sound bad, it doesn't have the metallic echo...
My 96' Cobra had a TKO600 and QuickTime Bellhousing installed by a previous owner. I wasn't happy with the BBK adjustable clutch cable setup, as it just didn't feel right. I had read that the adjustable cables weren't great, and that an OEM cable with any quadrant and firewall adjuster would...
Now that the engine is running smooth, I'm going to turn my attention to the suspension. Looking for a good drag oriented suspension build that's not too aggressive for the street. I do still need to be able to drive this thing around town and on the highway, some some corners will be...
Long story but hoping yall can help, I just picked up my Cobra in January, it’s a 1996 with the following known engine mods:
- Procharger P-1SC with Open Race BOV and 3 Core Intercooler
- 42 lbs/hour injectors
- VMP blow through MAF
- Unknown Fuel Pump
When I purchased the...
96' Cobra with 54k miles
- Procharger Stage 2 P-1SC with 3 Core Intercooler and Big Red Blow Off Valve
- VMP Blow through setup
- 42 lbs./hour injectors, unknown fuel pump
- NGK TR6 plugs gapped at .030 with less than 10 miles on them
- Stock Coils and Plug Wires
- Probably tuned by DynotuneMp...
I have been going through my Procharged Cobra since January when I bought it and finding various things that needed fixing / correcting. The most recent is that the AEM 30-4100 Wideband AFR gauge is missing the 02 sensor and thus shows a static 14.7.
In searching for replacement sensors, I...

I have a LS1 oil pan I purchased for my last project car a 98' Z28 Roller. This pan is necessary for truck LS engines to clear the car K-Member. Asking $250, would prefer local pickup, I'm in Batavia, IL (West Suburbs of Chicago).
The car currently has no functional cold air intake to the Procharger. It came with what I believe is the aluminum section of an Anderson Power Pipe for a Vortech equipped 96-98 Cobra as it's one piece and not two like the correct Power Pipe kit.
My options are:
1. Buy a 4.0" by 8.0" JLT air...
Background: I recently purchased a 96’ Cobra with 54k and a Procharger P-1SC kit and TKO600. I knew going into it that there were unknowns, I was told it had no serpentine belt as it had shredded, and that the TKO600 wasn’t shifting with the engine running.
I drained the oil in the Procharger...
So, what do you do, when the wife gives the greenlight to get another Mustang for cruise nights in the summer? Do you buy the 99-04 GT in working order with 100k miles… Hell No, you buy the 96’ Cobra with 54k miles and a Procharger P-1SC kit that doesn’t drive due to a shredded belt and...
I recently purchased a Procharged 96' Cobra with not a lot of history from the previous owner. I immediately noticed that it was missing the upper radiator support brackets, and so I went to a local pick and pull and grabbed some. Today I went out to the garage to install and they would not...
I recently purchased a 96’ Cobra with P-1SC that had shredded a belt. I immediately noticed the Procharger pulley was out of alignment with that alternator.
I removed the Procharger to clean it up and check pulley alignment on the other pulleys and the hardware doesn’t seem to match the...
A couple weeks ago I picked up a 96’ Cobra with a P-1SC.
The seller advised that it was missing the serpentine belt which had shredded, and that the transmission wouldn’t shift while running which he was told was due to bad synchros. Some feedback from the local Mustang club leads me to...
I was initially looking at getting another Harley Davidson, but my wife quickly shut down that plan with the mention of my two young children who need a father, lol. So I have instead decided to look for a hardtop 96-98 Cobra so that I can take the kiddos to cruise nights.
Not looking for a...
I have been kicking around the idea of picking up a car that is more of a project where I wouldn't feel as bad taking some chances and learning as I go. There really isn't much left to be done as the car has pretty much every bolt-on you could think of. If you are interested or have questions...
I’m looking for a 1998-2002 Z28 Camaro. Some people seem to think these are worth their weight in gold; however, my budget is approximately $4k-$5k. So if you have a clean low mileage pristine example, or if you don’t but still want double book value, I’m not the buyer for you. I would prefer...
