this website is a confusing mess so why don't you enlighten me as to what the market rules are for posting a GT500 for sale at an effing SVT forum? and yeah I'm being rude because you or someone else did not say a damn thing to me you just deleted it without saying a word.
that's cool, I'm really looking forward to TT next year.
my first time ever on a track was in the 11 GT500 and afterward all the Miata people were complaining at the download and I'm like dude my first time ever cut me some slack geez! I didn't know a damn thing about miatas. lol. it's funny...
I've seen quite a few built s197s come up at trackmustangsonline for 15K but I haven't seen an S550 listed. I almost bought one last year but finally decided I'd rather have a Boss than an older s197.
there's a fellow in NASA NorCal with a blue 2016 GT and he runs that thing hard. he said it's...
Ah, when I make that list the 2015 wins but I have nostalgic fondness for the Boss. :) maybe I'll just put feelers out for both and see which one comes up.
I don't really mind being insulted but I'm curious as to why you're so defensive about this issue. the links you provided do not clarify whether a super snake is required or if any GT500 can be upgraded in CA. yes I read everything. also not explained is whether it's still valid since the law...
Back in 2011 when roush was selling off all of their old stock I bought up the complete conversion kit for a stage 3 and converted my 06 GT into it. it included everything in the RS3 spec, but the only thing I was missing was the big brakes. that was a fun car.
Was just talking with my kids about this. I'm going to enjoy life more even if it costs $ which I tend to not spend. Going to every track weekend (NASA NorCal) and doing the extra Laguna Seca plus dabbling in SoCal tracks. I want to buy a small RV and car trailer so I can camp at the track. I...
Hmm, not a racing forum, so I'm barking up the wrong tree, but if anyone comes across this post, I'll simplify the question...
What I'm looking for is advice regarding two specific cars for track use: 2012-13 Boss 302 (standard) *OR* 2015+ Mustang GT. Comparing apples to apples here, mileage...
The awesome thing about this post is that you copied the whole FB discussion knowing that most of us here aren't on FB or won't follow a link to it. LOL. Well, I'm assuming, I suppose. I personally don't touch that sh*t anymore. To me, FB is like the bathroom at a rest stop.
guys nothing in the past matters anymore with what you did in your tunes. as of July this summer you cannot do a damn thing in California with your engines with out a CARB EO.
That was actually a very strange thing for Ford to do if you think about it. Like it seems there was some crossover with development of the '13 maybe at the time? Maybe in order to get KB to work with them they had to promise a certain number of units sold for the 11-12's. IDK just speculating.
Correct me if wrong but I believe those KB upgrades are no longer available from FRPP. Congratulations on getting one while they were still around and CARB legal. That's pretty rare today in CA. I pretty much can't do anything at all with the engine. No regrets, though! It's fast enough for me.
TL;DR: what's the best Mustang for amateur track use on a shoestring budget? meaning I can't just go buy a GT350. I go through my reasoning below but damn didn't realize that was so long.
I have a dilemma! I'm over half done building a Nissan track car and looking to do the same with a Mustang...
I rode with a comp guy at Sonoma in his 2018 ZL1-1LE and it was incredible with massive acceleration and hard braking. But interestingly, it couldn't keep going the whole 20 minutes, slightly ran off the track at one point and he blamed hot tires. IDK if he was pushing too hard or not being my...
I've only owned my 11 GT500 for six months so I'm sure you'll forgive reviving this old thread. My first Shelby. I live in CA and even the worst day in winter is fine for driving. I commute 90 mi RT to work and drive the Shelby to work one day per week. The advantage of CA weather is countered...
I had a RS3 and loved it, my first SC'ed Mustang. Spent a bundle on VMP upgrades. I was recently thinking about picking one up again for track but a Boss makes more sense. Actually a 2015 makes even more sense.
I have never been to a Sam's Club tire center that did the job correctly (visited 4 in towns nearby on the search for competence) so I stopped going there, get much better service at Les Schwab. You get what you pay for and free is not always free when the work is $#!T.
That GT rear wing is a strange cosmetic attachment. Based on the angle it does nothing but let air flow around itself. I am offended by fake performance. Like carbon fiber stickers and CF radio antennas. Thank goodness there are no GD fake fender ducts like Toyota is putting everywhere on their...
