Looking for a turbo cobra. Coupes only and no auto swaps please. Can be single or TT. Looking for white, sonic blue or black and under 50k miles. Located in WI but can travel for the right car!
Thanks!
Yes I did however the unit is pretty well scraped up and dinged up. Nothing like this listing at all.
I looked into refurbishing options but I will probably just end up selling it cheaper to someone who cares a lot less about what their blower looks like and who has zero interest in doing car...
You guys have given me some really good suggestions I appreciate it!
I ended up adding a magnaflow catted-x to the magnaflow catback. It did add some volume for sure.
I think the car sounds amazing from the outside and family/friends have mentioned they think it’s pretty loud when you get on...
Can we also take into account the fact that the 2.3 whipple has progressed to the gen 3 rotors?
I feel like there’s a lot of talk and comparisons between the 2.3 tvs and the old 2.3 whipple.. hasn’t the whipple tech improved?
Nate’s comment:
“I didn't read the entire thread, but I've had both blowers on multiple cars and my opinion falls in line with what everyone else is saying.
2.3 TVS is a blast and the removable inlet is very sweet. You don't realize how sweet until you are removing an entire blower multiple...
“At least the gen 4 doesn’t”***
I think that may be the key right there. Selecting a blower is a tough decision to make when you see one person saying that a 2.9 is terrible at 17lbs of boost and it lags horribly and even though you’ll make big hp, it won’t feel that way.. and then you see...
I know the tvs is generally held in higher regard within this community, but is the driving experience that much better that it justifies paying basically the same price for a used 2.3 unit instead of a new 2.3 Whipple?
Also, if the tvs is truly that much more fun and buying used is the answer...
I currently have a magnaflow catback system on my 04 cobra which I would consider to be a 4/10 in volume. I'm looking to make the vehicle louder, but all the O\R mid-pipes seem way too loud. I live in the city and I just don't see that working.
What would you guys recommend to make an exhaust...
Thank you! That was the direction I was leaning.
When sticking to the 600hp mark, do you suspect the 2.65 would feel sluggish down low like the 2.9 whipple does on lower boost compared to the 2.3 tvs?
it just seems nuts to pay 3500 for a used 2.3 when I could have a brand new 2.65 for 4300...
I've searched this site thoroughly and I don't see a lot of information on the VMP gen 3 supercharger for the cobra.
I recently purchased a stock 04 cobra with 70k miles. I want a setup that will hopefully promote some vehicle longevity, so I guess I'm looking to keep the car around 600-650hp...
