Thanks for doing a write up on this. I finally got my tkx after a year waiting and decided to install it this winter. After new rear gears that showed some headscratcher decisions from the assembly line and installing the panhard bar, I figured I'd enjoy the car a little bit before lying on my...
If Ford ever sends the driveshaft, I'll have it. I ordered the 31 spline driveshaft last June and the tkx last July. Still not here, but allegedly they should ship this month. Still plan on a write up when they show up.
I felt it came out low, but didnt press the issue since I just wanted the car back. At some point I planned to have the tune looked at since it seems to run super rich only at idle, but I'm several hours away from all the good tuners in Michigan. There isnt any leaks I've found or anything else...
I definitely will write up a post about it. I was told sometime in August it will ship and plan on putting it in once its here. I already have all the other swap parts ready since its hard to get stuff lately. Hopefully I dont end up missing anything too difficult to get ahold of if I need...
Anyone swapped the t45 to a tkx yet? Mines coming in August and I was wondering about what shifters would fit it. Tremec said it should pretty straight forward, just have to relocate the crossmember, new bellhousing, and get 31 spline driveshaft but figured id see if anyone that's done it ran...
The engine is all stock. It does have a bbk x-pipe but stock catback, most of the suspension is done, and an aluminum flywheel when I put the clutch in.
Well the install is finally done. It made 360hp and 326tq at the wheels. We were going for 8lbs of boost since the motor is stock and it ended up making 7.4lbs. It's all set to run 500+hp after I source an engine to rebuild with forged internals down the road. My tkx transmission should ship in...
I will definitely post after install. I've got the clutch and suspension mostly covered for the added power. It's going to be on a conservative tune while I source another engine to build so I can swap it in after some time and turn the boost up.
1994 or 95 deep forest green and camel convertible top with the cobra grill and fender emblems. It did sound good at least. On a positive note, after 6 freaking months of waiting on procharger, my supercharger will be here by Monday. I'm ready to enjoy it this summer.
Lidio at Alternative did say he would tune it, just not work on it. None of the muffler shops I trust here have a drive on lift. Paul's high performance will do it, but only their connectors. Since I've got to drive a couple hours minimum for a dyno I was hoping to get it all done at once. I'll...
No one is competent enough around where I live to weld them in or doesnt want the liability. I live in Alpena which is a small town. And Alternative Auto said they dont work on cars as old as mine anymore.
I'm looking for a place in Michigan to get my subframe connectors welded in and a baseline dyno run then tuned. I've been turned down by everyone up north here and at Alternative Auto downstate. Anyone have any suggestions? This is getting to be far more difficult than I expected. Engine is...
Got the springs in. 1 1/4" drop in the front and 3/4" drop in the rear. Alignment is next tuesday and I'll see how it handles. I didnt have room to install the subframe connectors and panhard bar so I'll get those put in when I take it downstate for a baseline dyno run after winter.
Well I started to install the caster/camber plates and forgot to measure the stock height before I started so I'll get the plates and struts installed, check it, and then install the springs. I need to pick up a better drill bit and I'll finish it up in the next couple of days and post the results.
Okay awesome, I bought new ones right before I decided to get the kit. I'm really excited for the suspension. I built the engine on my old 94 gt and it got wrecked before I got to the suspension so I'm ready to see how sn95s handle with it upgraded.
I ended up talked to a tech there and decided to wait on the coilovers for when I put on a supercharger, but did add the panhard bar and full length subframe connectors. Should I leave the new quad shocks on it still until I get the torque arm and rear control arms later? I forgot to ask them...
Not yet. It was on backorder and should be here in a couple of days. New clutch and flywheel are finally in so I'm trying to get the break-in done before it arrives.
Thanks. I'm up in Alpena, lots of family around detroit though. I was excited about the low miles and planned to keep it stock for awhile, but that went out the window pretty quick.
Just went with the starter box for now. Thinking about replacing the front control arms as well since it needs ball joints. My new clutch is backordered so I'm trying to wait on spending a bunch in case there's any unexpected transmission costs.
Replaced the quad shocks and it definitely tightened up the rear. Also it amplified how bad the ball joints are. I just went with the MM suspension kit. I was really excited to put in the mgw shifter I got today until I popped off the shifter bezel and saw an orange block with mgw etched on it...
