Awesome man! I’m 1k miles into my single kit now. Sai Li tuned bone stock Gen 1 motor/trans. Car put down 679whp/540wtq on just 8psi with 91+Boostane. I street cruise it on 6psi (gate pressure) and it makes 624/535 on that setting.
No track times yet, it’s 100+ in AZ until Fall. Gives me time...
Thank you. I do not remember the sizing I ordered unfortunately. I'm on 276/60/15 555R's and they're not holding boost at all. I'll be going MT ET Streets soon.
Car is finally done and back together. 679whp/540wtq @ 8psi
End goal is a fresher 2nd gen in the long run. For now, I'll talk to my fab guy and see what he thinks about running a 5" off an upsized exhaust side. It shouldn't cost much, maybe we'll try it first and give it a test run? I can always cut a larger hole in the bumper lol
Yeah we "finished" for now. Car put down 623whp/536wtq before seeing float. That was on 6psi. Car will stay at this level until we can get her in for valve train upgrades.
Who was asking questions? I posted a dyno and YOU asked the questions. Am I right or?
Don't go get all upset over a simple disagreement over WHY the float is happening. I appreciate your input and will take it into consideration moving forward.
So we all agree it's float, I just don't agree with the reasoning everyone else is giving. There's tons of these ON3 kits with bumper exits running around pushing way more boost than I am, and NONE have a backpressure issue. You can't compare a kit on a Gen 3 Coyote above and claim that's the...
On 3 Performance 2nd Gen 76 / 75 BMF CNC Billet Wheel Turbocharger 1125HP | On3Performance
Valve float is not a common thing with these kits. I only hear about float with ON3 twin kits at 15+ psi.
It’s a 76mm with a 4” bumper exit exhaust, there’s really no restriction. I think it has more to do with it being a 119k mile motor that’s spent the last 50k-ish miles at 7800 rpms with full boltons before I put this kit on.
I think at this point I’m going to dial the boost back to keep it safe...
We swapped in new coil packs and regapped plugs to .021 which is fine for under 10 pounds. It helped but it’s looking like valve float at this point. The pulls are very clean now on 6 pounds at 600whp. This graph was on 8 pounds and she put down 678/540, but breakup came back again.
I am currently troubleshooting my ON3 single kit. We're getting spark blow out up top at 6100 rpms. The car definitely wants to make power though. This is on 91 pump with Boostane.
The blue graph was on older Brisk plugs...and they dipped around 5400. Slapped in new NGK 6510's gapped at .025...
That's the thing, it's acting as if the gates are sticking. I'm 99% sure they're the issue. I'll verify before ordering replacements but I'm almost certain at least one is malfunctioning. In that case I'll replace both. I'll know more once I get time to get under her.
Boost goes well past 10...
No they aren't....Sai Li is. I have no real reason to switch over, PBD was cool as Hell. I was going through Ken before he hired on Rob and Trevor, and they've always been super fast and super helpful. Just wanted to try someone new I guess? And I hear great things about Sai and On3 tuning. So...
I own a Mustang and I love the GT500, but there's just something about the C6Z. The package for the $$$ can't be beat on the used market. And you can make monsters out of them in either N/A or FI trim. Nice runs.
Gave her some much needed attn yesterday. Bumper is going back on this week, then it'll be time to install the Strange shocks/struts and the Tial 44mm wastegates.
I'd say the biggest difference is pucker factor lol....My last 4-cylinder track car was an 11-second Integra on nitrous. No matter how fast it got, it was never an issue to keep her under control.
With this car, you gotta be on your toes....if she steps out it could get ugly.
Living in AZ and the closest track being in Phoenix....I most likely won't be ready to do any track testing till Fall unfortunately. Still dialing in the tune (Sai Li), and I need some drive time with the car to even get used to the power, etc. I'll probably street cruise it over the Summer to...
Welp, I tried logging in with my old account and couldn't get it...and the Captcha error kept popping up even though no Captcha verification window ever popped up.
ANYWAYS...the car has come a LONG way since I last checked in. We just got done installing an ON3 76mm single turbo kit.
VMP BAP...
