How wide are the rear tires?
I'm still on the stockers and 325s so I've got more of that tucked in look from certain angles and it drives me bonkers. Either a different offset and/or a wider wheel with 335-345s would fill it in nicely, but I told myself I would take my time piecing this buggy...
Beauty! How do you like those wheels in person? Forgelines fall into a nice affordable groove, especially when we're talking 19s and 20s in 10-12" widths. I like F14s, but everyone and their mom has them.
You must be the one on the Corvette forum unloading the Corsa Xtremes with black tips. lol
Man I feel the same way. I finished getting mine ready yesterday and ran to fill it up with fresh juice. Pulled up to the pumps and this 12-13 year old kid jumps out of the SUV in front of the store and just stares. I ran in for some beverages, got back in the car, and now he's got his phone...
Finally yanked the cover off and got her ready for the season. Maybe she’ll see more than 130 miles this year. Collector plate doesn’t clash quite as badly as I expected so that’s a plus.
@NateDogg
Nice pick up! My buddy is selling a clean red 99 Z/28. If hadn't just bought the Z06, I'd be considering it. Another pal has a 2000? SS convertible that's pretty mint.
This reminds of a meme from another thread about not caring about new cars and all their tech and going for the...
I got an Adams air cannon blaster thing for my birthday last year. Overall, I like it. Works great on coated cars (not surprising). I like it for the Vette hood especially since it opens "backwards" and I can work the water down the hood and off the bumper. Gets water out of the typical...
Have you used Focal before? I hadn't had any experience with them before, but rolled the dice on the flax evo line a couple years back in my F150. 6.5 components up front, 6.5 coaxial in the rear, 5-channel amp (75x4 I believe). Retained the factory head unit to maintain stealth because it's...
Royal Purple 5-30. Not because it makes any noticeable difference, but I can buy a 5qt jug locally for $38. Seems pretty reasonable for a performance full synthetic. Plus I use RP in the trans and diff so my OCD is appeased with everything matching. lol I also substitute a half quart for...
I've never used an RXT, but I've got an aluminum flywheel with billet insert. As I understand it:
Advantages - Lighter, less rotating mass, "free hp", quicker revving (supposedly, I don't notice)
Disadvantage - Less rotating mass can make feathering smoothly a little trickier. Heavier steel...
I'm somewhere around 90% and people are popping roddies about it. Sure it's kinda cool, but there's a lot more interesting space stuff out there to look at it. "OMG! That big ball of blue cheese in the sky is going to cruise between our rock and the big light bulb!" lol Evidently shadows...
Anywhere near a Dayton Freight facility? We're always looking for diesel techs. We don't pay the most, but the company and atmosphere is hard to beat. That's coming from someone who left UPS after almost 16 years, by the way. Fleet maintenance is boring, but consistent. Sure beats getting...
Tell me about it. I brought the Vette home last Sunday only because I'm starting a bunch of work on it this weekend and wanted to be sure it started and ran okay after sitting for winter. Cobra has been under a cover since October. Thought about starting spring prep, but what for when it's...
I don't have a DYAD or RXT, but I get an occasional chirp leaving in first too. Mine's just the final chattering clutch grab barking the tires thanks to the Spec 3+ and billet flywheel. lol
On the rare occasion that I'm home alone, chances are I'm asleep long before she ever reaches that point. lol Or she just comes home ready to go and wakes me up.
Hell yeah! Then while I'm snooping, I come across these two semi local higher mileage Terminator convertibles which then gets me thinking, "If I'm going to spend $9-10k on a clean GT, what's another 6 for a Terminator?" lol Hardly drive the one I have, but so what?
Ya know, if I came across a 96-98 laser red GT coupe in decent shape for the right price, I'd strongly consider scooping it up. Even with bolt-ons and a canned tune she wasn't fast, but I still had a lot of fun slamming gears in my '96 back in the day. Probably can't outrun most modern dad...
I'm on my third black car.
1993 Probe GT (2004-05ish)
2003 S2000 (2009?)
2007 Z06 (2023)
After the S2k, I told myself never again. I held out for almost 15 years! lol
No idea how the point thing works... 20pts to get the Terminator, but 40 to get the 4-Runner dad van?
While this is novel and endearing, I haven't played video games since I moved out of mommy's house and became a grownup. lol
