I hesitated bring it up because like I said, if you don't own a Mark VIII the chances someone would know that info isn't reasonable. Now knowing you have a Lincoln it's some what relevant. I've always liked the LS (DEW98) :-) but have always heard the stories of the issues with them, off the...
I think I got confused, I thought you were referring to decipha but know I'm thinking that Mark is @mwolson the author of the IAT Relocation and IMRC Delete Project. Ether way both Mark and decipha are both way above my head when it comes to knowing about the intricate workings of this hobby :-)
It didn't take me very long to figure out that this was a person to listen to :). I read the first article he shared with me and then went to the home page to find more info. I'm from the early/mid 70's when I started learning about cars. I think a lot of the people in today's world don't really...
decipha, knowing first hand that you are someone that knows a vast amount of knowledge in several areas of the modular engines and more, I thought I'd share something that most people never know unless they owned a the Mark VIII. They had to make enough changes to the mn12 platform that they...
Yeah it's basically all factory with the blower being the exception. The first car to have a 4.6 DOHC back in 1993, part of the reason I've been driving them for so long. I hope to surprise a few Mustangs :-)
It's still an auto but manual is a very real possibility :-) There's a few Mark VIII's that have been switched, never driven one but hopefully I can afford to do it one day. I've loved these cars long before I could afford one but I finally got my first one in 1999 and haven't looked back :-)...
Yeah I
absolutely wanted the polished blower so only real option was to buy it new. As much as I wanted it, it wasn't easy letting that chunk of change go :-)
I didn't personally do it, my health sucks to put it lightly. I'm very fortunate to have someone doing the wrenching for me. I found the article about repositioning the IAT and I passed it on to my guy, he taped it. I am very hands on with the build, I'm very particular about doing things so it...
Wow, great write up. I got about 3/4 through before I got sidetracked, thanks for the info. I will more than likely hit you up if I find myself lost in some aspect of the build. I'm lucky to have two good minds already helping but sometimes I get two different answers from each one and that's...
Thought I'd share some progress pics, the mods at this point are the KB 2.1L Bosch 42 lbs Injectors, 255 Welbro, 98' cobra fuel rail, Kooks 3/4 length, Accufab SCTB96-98 throttle body, MMR rear head cooling mod, IAT mod post blower, Tuff Stuff 225 amp chrome Alt., and for now a BBK 03-04 Cobra...
Yes I've been on eBay, that's where I found the Delphi IAT. Any of the Ford F6SZ-12A697-A were old listings. I didn't figure out that the Delphi was a true replacement until late Friday, I'm going to go to one of our Ford dealers tomorrow and see if the factory part is still available. Thanks...
Yes, going to locate it after the blower so it will help my tuner put together a much better tune. I linked the write up above. It's a great write up but is a little dated 2007-08 It covers just about everything you need to know. I'm just curious if there is any new info that might be worth...
Sorry for slow response, long day yesterday. This is the write up I was referring to
http://www.classictiger.com/mustang/IAT-IMRC/IAT-IMRC.htm
I wanted the actual Ford part but I'm guessing it's no longer available. Part# F6SZ-12A697-A
I realized that the part I had in question says it is interchangeable with F6SZ-12A697-A so I think I'm good. Does anyone know the pigtail Part#? I was going to delete this thread but I couldn't figure out how to go about it. If anyone has any advice to share about doing this modification please do.
The build is a 98 Lincoln Mark VIII with the KB non-intercooled 96-98 kit. I've read a number of threads and did a number of searches but for some reason I'm not 100% which one it right. I've used F6SZ-12A697-A which is from the KB write up from years back. I went to Ford and tried to explain to...
98 svt, just getting around to this but here are a couple more pictures. These cars are kind of a love/hate car, people seem to ether LOVE them or HATE them :-) Kind of obvious how I feel :-) Hopefully you'll read this or someone will, what is a good upgrade on the belt tensioner? I remember...
No, the lower front bumper is available from Temple Performance. Unfortunately I just lost a bunch of pictures I thought I had backed up but discovered they weren't, So I have to go back and reload everything as well as resize the pictures. Once I get that done I will load them on here. I will...
I've only belonged to a couple forums before so this is new water to me. I've been in the Mark VIII forums since 2001 back when these kind of forums were just beginning. I have been in one of the larger FB Groups for a while. There are a number of members that know the Mark VIII 4.6 DOHC version...
