I find it interesting that Ford uses codenames for developing engines, Voodoo, Predator, roadrunner, trinity etc. I spent a lot of time looking for the codename for the S/C 5.4L in the 07-08 GT500. finally found the answer in the last couple pages of the book,
Iron Fist, Lead Foot: John Coletti...
I would argue the GT350/R are the greatest cars built for the money at this point. Hard to believe you can get this kind of performance and smiles per mile between 50-60k.
Found it in Grand Rapids, couldn't believe the plate was available. Got this one sitting between my Boss302 LS and GT350R. Now to find a 95R to park with them. PS, not my LS but it looks exacty the same (file photo).
Picked up a 2013 Boss LS, black, today. Spent a little time behind the wheel, what a rush. Can't wait for it to warm up a little so I can really run her. Less than 13k miles. LS585
I've read all the books (even the newest), a big fan of the series. The episodes are kinda cool to watch but its hard to match the books. Cornwell is very talented at the battle scenes in his books. They really seem to come alive. His Sharpe series is worth checking out also.
I think my next car will be a boss also, every one I have seen look and sound great. I was looking for a LS when I found my 350 slightly used and at a good price. Don't regret buying the 350 but the boss stays in the back of my mind. These mustangs are addictive.
I actually put more miles on the 500 this year because I couldn't make it to the track except once because of work. My wife and I like to take it for cruises and drive somewhere at least an hour away for lunch or dinner.
Haven't had it dyno'ed but the Bullitt is a great car. I really love mine, sits higher than the 350 so I feel like I can drive it more aggressively on the road without breaking something. Got it as a cruiser so I can dedicate the 350 to track work.
I have a 07 GT500 and a 16 GT350, I would keep the 350 if I had to flip one or the other. They both have good qualities but the 350 is a unique car, very trackable, high revving blast to drive. The 500 is a straight line cruiser with power to sit you back in the seat and make you hold on...
