DSS says that it is for sure not the driveshaft. Makes sense as I don't know what could be in there making that noise. So that points back to the rear end.......again.....
I'm gonna put it back on the lift Saturday and check pinion angle and re-torque all bolts (for about the 10th time)
I guess...
It's just weird that it's coming from the driveshaft. I didn't even know they could make such a noise.
No, not stock axles.
35 spline Moser axles, Moser 9" rear with Wavetrac and 3.89 gears. Adjustable panhard bar, adjustable upper and lower control arms, Eibach springs, and a DSS aluminum...
Hate to bring up an old thread, but I need some help. I only ran the truetrac for a couple of months before it started making all kinds of noises. I talked to Moser and they swapped it out for the Wavetrac and I have had that in there since July. I was still getting a good amount of gear noise...
Mainly money. I wasn’t planning on doing all this near this soon. Especially with less than 30k miles. I just wasn’t prepared but had to do something pretty quick when the stock one started giving out. It’s my daily driver.
Just thought I'd update you guys...
I installed the Moser 9" and DSS driveshaft about two weeks ago. Had a few hiccups here and there, but overall wasn't too terribly bad. The little "C" shims that go in between the axle bearing and the caliper mounting plate didn't fit right so I had to take...
I've heard of people drilling and tapping holes into the new case. I just unhooked everything and removed the lines and the pump. I don't think I'll ever actually "need" a diff cooler. Speaking of....I have a diff cooler set up off a 2013 for sale if anyone is interested.
Yeah, my 8.8 was making all kinds of noise. DSS does have all the dimensions and everything for making one to go from the TR6060 to the Moser 9" (i'm assuming it would be the same for all 9") but I ordered mine from Lethal Performance and got it about $150 cheaper than if I were to order it...
I'm looking for a pair of Forgestar F14 drag wheels for the rears in 17x10.5 that will clear the SVTPP brakes on a 2013. With or without tires. Anyone have anything like that they don't need anymore?
I just ordered the Moser. They both appear to be great companies with great products, I just personally like Moser better. And the guy I spoke with there (Shawn Homan) seemed to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
Perfect. Unless I just stumble across a crazy good deal, I’ll be calling them in a The morning to place an order. And I guess I need to call the driveshaft shop too and order their driveshaft.
I will be ordering a complete, bolt in 9” rear end tomorrow or Friday. Does anyone have any leads on a good deal on one? If I can’t find anything else, I’ll be getting the Moser with 35 spline and the TrueTrac diff. Any experience with these? It was a toss up between the Moser and the Strange...
I'm probably just going to order the 9" but I was thinking of going with Moser over Strange. Do you think Strange would be a better option? And I'm kind of leaning toward the True Trac, it's between that or the wavetrac. I'm out of factory warranty, but have an extended warranty bought through...
Well, took it in and they recommend replacing the whole unit. I decided that if I'm going to change it, I might as well do a Moser or Strange 9". But then when I go to order it they said I have to change my driveshaft too because the 9" will only work with the 1350 yolk and my car has the one...
Yeah, I can definitely tell a difference in noise from the bushings, but this is a different noise, or noises really. It sounds pretty bad. Going to Ford Monday. I’m done messing it. Apart from opening up the diff, there is nothing else I can do at this point. This whole thing is just turning...
