    Rehabbed the steering wheel

This was a lot less work. I can get just the wheel for $12 at the JY. Whenever I see a nice one Im going to grab it, they will bring a bunch more than that on Ebay in a few years.

    Rehabbed the steering wheel

Sort of. My original was wore out. Color gone, missing some of the leather wrap, and plain butt ugly. I found a nice gray wheel at the P-N-P with airbag for $25 plus another $10 for paint. The paint is SEMA Saddle and doesnt match, but its close enough. It was hell masking off the leather...

    Lighter Door

Im going to put a 2001 shifter bezel in. I painted it this morning, not a perfect match, but the car is far from perfect anyway.

    Lighter Door

Im missing the spring on my shifter bezel lighter door, so the door doesnt stay closed. I dont know if just the spring is gone or if something is broken off as well. Can anyone post a pic of what it should look like and if nothing is broken, can just the spring be replaced? If not, Im gluing...

Carpet is 90% installed. Got the console and seats back in, just need to finish up on the kick panels and door sills. Its molded pretty good, theres a couple places where Im going to put a bit of padding in to smooth out a wrinkle but overall its decent for aftermarket carpet.

    Rear Suspension Refresher

I did tubular on all four with new rubber axle bushings and poly spring rubbers and a new edge rear end. Rides nice.

    Seat Covers

Lots of low mileage cars in the JY that were wrecked, see them all the time. Saw an 03 V6 vert with a smashed front end and mint gray leather interior a couple weeks ago. While I was pulling the radio bezel a couple guys showed up and asked what I was taking. I told them just the bezel. A...

    Seat Covers

My usual MOD is to pull a JY carpet, hit it with shout and pressure wash it. If the color is off, stuff it in a trash can and use the WM dye with water from the hot water heater. Good as new.

    Seat Covers

Scotty, those look really nice. I have been keeping an eye out for S197 seats, so far its a no-go. Ive spent the day finishing up a couple projects that have been 1/2 done for a month. Hope to get the new carpet in tomorrow.

    Seat Covers

Im going to order seat covers today. I have saddle leather. I do not like leather in a convertible. Its way to hot down here, its after mid September and we are still hitting 95-100 degree days. Im going to go with cloth. A few questions: Who makes the best quality, best vendor, are new...

Finally have time to tackle the new carpet install. I made the 2 hour trip to Mustangs Unlimited to buy the carpet. They insisted that this is the correct carpet for my 97 Cobra. I insisted that their carpet is for 99+ Mustangs. What say you?

Recovering or Reupholster Door Panels 99-04 ?

Thats why I think a good compromise is to reproduce the top portion only. Either a snap on/glue on panel or a complete replacement panel. Even a formed upholstery panel would be better than nothing. As I stated, I rarely see a bottom that is damaged or worn.

Recovering or Reupholster Door Panels 99-04 ?

Old thread but worth keeping it going. It seems all we would need is a plastic panel to "snap" over the top portion of the door panel. Or even separate the top from the bottom and just replace the top. Ive been looking in the JYs for 6 months now, nearly every door panel I find has a great...

    Making Progress

At the time I didnt know about G-springs. 1.2 drop, 500/570 and 170/310 for verts. Those may have been better, but Im still happy with the cut coils. Thats how we did it back before 1-click shopping bought you any and everything.

    Making Progress

I had a set of 94 GT vert springs with 55,000 miles on them. I cut one coil off and used Geo Tracker shocks and Fox struts. I kept the oem isolators on the bottoms since they were in good shape and put new polys on the tops. I decided to try that route because I put FMS C springs on the 94...

    Making Progress

Pealed off the old cloth, bought 1/2 yard speaker cloth from JoAnn Fabrics, used spay adhesive to attach new cloth. the two smaller grills had clips, one of them had push nuts, one of them I had to use my trusty Harbor Freight plastic welder ( sodering iron) and melt it off. The two larger...

Stock 98 Cobra exhaust sound question

Mine has the cats and a set of generic turbo muffs. One of the best sounding Stangs Ive ever owned. My tailpipes are flat black, if they will not clean up I will replace them with oem, otherwise Im leaving mine alone.

    Values up

In my area I see SN95 Cobras with asking prices of 7,000+. Many of them not as nice as mine and I dont think I could get 7k for mine.

The day I brought her home six months ago and today. Lowered, shocks, struts, naked decklid, 17x9 Cobra rims 275-40-17 Kumho directional tread, 96 grill, Mach 1 rear end. Did the front suspension tonight, at 156k still had the original front struts, noticed the ball joints need to be replaced...

    Carpet

My 97 is much different. The harness has a big flat plastic piece on it. Once I put the carpet back in I was able to figure out how it goes. That carpet has been bugging me for weeks. Yesterday I drove up to Mustangs Unlimited and bought a new carpet. Hope to have my front end lowered and...

    Seats

I cant get the seller to send me pics. He says perfect condition, but I have heard that before. He wants $500 for the three seats and its 100 miles from me, so if I cant get pics, Im passing. Plan B is to order cloth from TMI. I know many of you dont like cloth, but in a vert I like cloth...

    Carpet

My new carpet showed up today. As soon as I opened the box I knew it was a bust. It looks olive green to me, not anywhere near saddle, so back to Summit it goes. I reinstalled the old carpet.....for now.

    Carpet

The wiring harness for the console is attached to the console. There will be a plug for the driver seatbelt, the console, power seat, and two unused plugs. The main front to rear harness is on the driver side, there was no wiring on the passenger side. The carpet was pretty easy to take out...
