Spun a rod bearing in my 01, going to rebuild the teksid.
I want to put a supercharger on it in the long run but right now I'm just wanting to get it back up and running. I don't know a whole lot about modular motors and I know this is a great place to ask for advice. Already ordered Boss...
That's the plan, Boss rods already on the way, Manley's soon. Car has been parked as I'm trying to limit the damage. I'll start a thread on the rebuild including pricing and sources soon in case anyone else needs help.
I've been quoted less, but I'm buying all my parts before we tear it down. I just picked up my Boss 302 Rods and I'm currently looking for some forged pistons. If I'm going to rebuild, I'm building for boost.
So recently the motor in my 2001 Cobra gave up. Spun rod bearing was the cause, I'm no mechanic and I'm trying to figure out my options. The car will still fire and still sounds normal at idle. Should I rip everything apart and start over on the original block or start looking at crate...
We found that the oil filter housing was stripped out and I'm not sure. It's been fixed and I run Royal Purple + Lucas. I've checked the fluids since the fix and they're perfect. Someone else said timing chains also. Hopefully my mechanic can look at it today.
I have a vibration that last about 3-4 seconds on startups and you can hear it again as the RPMS increase 3K-4K, car still has power but I'm definitely keeping my foot off the gas until I can pinpoint this noise and have it fixed. Any tips / experiences?
