More of a suicide than a kill...

Not sure where to put this. A track-day buddy of mine has been running a new C8 since March. He blew the engine last weekend at VIR. The car was taken to the nearest Chevy dealer. He is still waiting to hear if Chevy will cover it.

    It's true!

I was looking for a socket to install a ceiling fan. The one I need is missing. It's a 10mm.

    2019 Mod Season

I will kick off this year's winter mod thread. Major focus this year will be cooling upgrades. I am in on the second Triple Titanic HE group buy with DOB, and will be looking for a C&R radiator come Black Friday. I also have a rather large hood vent from Race Louvers waiting to go on. I...

    Mars vs Venus

So, last night at the dinner table, my daughter is going on and on about how soft and comfortable her new shoes are. She says, "It's like walking on, on..." searching for the right phrase. So I suggested, "Like walking on kittens?" My daughter and wife looked at me like I was some kind of...

Just ordered MCS TT2's through Vorshlag, along with their GTS spring package, including CC plates, and end links. Very excited.

    Winter mods!

Just dropped the car off to have a Maximum Motorsports k member and Vorshlag camber plates installed. Racing Brakes rotors and 19x11 Forgestsrs wrapped in 305/30R19 RE71R's to follow. It's going to be a long time 'til spring!

    Need help finding a kit...

I am looking for an oil filter relocation kit, part #FMS-M-6880-M22. I need to make room for an accusump, and my installer says this kit will do it, but Ford no longer lists it. BTW: There is other stuff in the way of re-locating the filter to the trunk. Alternatively, I am thinking about...

    How low is too low?

Is five inches at the rocker panels too low for the street? Thanks, Rick

    Tonneau Cover

I have a very good condition tonneau cover off my 2013 Scab Raptor. Free to a good home, you just gotta come get it. I am located along the I-95 corridor between DC and Richmond. Send me a PM if interested. I'm just going to toss if someone doesn't want it.

    For those tracking your GT500

I plan to install a MM K member, probably over the winter, and was reading Tob's thread on the unit, which brought up the whole floor pan distortion topic. If this needs to be addressed, it seems like the k member swap would be a good time to do it. So, for you guys tracking your GT500, have...

    Just ordered...

...full Kooks headers/dual exhaust and tune from JDM. Very excited. The only thing left is whether or not to super charge.

    Tire Question

Tire Rack lists Michelin Cup 2's in 315/30ZR19 as having an 11.7" tread width and 325/30ZR19 as having an 11.5" tread width. My question is: what, if any, advantage is there to the 325 if it has a narrower tread width? Thanks, Rick

I have a plan, and I feel pretty good about it.

I use my track packed '13 for driving fun, both on the street and at HPDE's. No commuting or road trips with the wife. So far, I have FRPP L springs, FRPP front sway bar, BMR front a arms, LCA/re-lo brackets and Watts Link, Griggs Torque Arm, stainless brake and clutch lines, Dot 5.1 fluid...

Funny line from a Challenger owner

The other night (it was full dark, my car is black) had a Scat Pack Challenger mess with me coming off a light. Afterward, we pulled over to chat, and he, smiling and shaking his head said, "I didn't see the snake."

Torque arm and Watts Link added...

Had a Griggs TA installed last Monday and a BMR Watts Link installed last Friday. I have not made it to the track yet, but the torque arm has made a huge difference even just driving around town. For example, when stopped on a hill, waiting for an opening to turn right into traffic, there was...

    What cooling upgrades...

Test drove a 2018 Raptor today...

    Tune in the mail

I got a 2013 Raptor a couple of weeks ago. I really like the truck, but it seems a bit sluggish. So, the good folks at VMP are sending me a tuner/tune, which should be here Monday. I have talked to a couple of people who said a new, performance tune made a night and day difference in their...

    Just about done...

...for a while anyway. Just put Shelby Venice wheels wrapped in Nitto NT555 G2's (305x35/285x35) on along with Van's brake/clutch line kit and Porterfield pads. The Nitto's really rounded out the suspension upgrades I have had installed. I think I will put a CAI, TB and tune in come spring...

Is there a brake cooling kit for our cars, or must one piece it together? Thanks, Rick

    What next?

I have put 3.73's in, along with Ford L springs and upgraded swaybars. The car is in the shop now getting BMR lower a-arms, LCA's, subframe connectors, a-arm tie in bar, and UCA bushings installed. All poly bushings. I plan to live with this, suspension-wise for a while. So, the next choice...

    It took 40 years...

When I was 15 (now 55) I worked in my uncle's gas station. My cousin was the mechanic and drove a '70 Mach I with a 428 CJ. Man, I thought that thing was it! Those were the only cars that ever did anything for me, everything else was just a way to get from A to B. I didn't have much growing...
