Woa, I never thought it was that much. I use 7qts and change the oil every 3-4 months regardless, but Ive never noticed it being a quart low. It does kind of make sense, seing how my oil separator (steeda type) gets almost filled about every 500 miles it seems like.
Sup guys!? Havent been on in a while and im probably beating a dead horse, but still have to ask. I recently changed my oil and went to full synthetic 10W30. Now I am a Ford tech turned accounts manager(lol) so I know these cars had 5W30 as the recommended viscosity, but accoriding to the shop...
Havent got the chance to really open it up under load, but wot at idle sounds a little bit quieter than my MAC set up with true duals. The thing that really sets it off is the even tone. I would say is 75% of the SLP1s as far as noise but much better sound.
Thanks for the heads up on the Xpipe, good advice...to be honest, its really not all that loud compared to the MAC set up i had before. I would say its same level with a smoother tone and surprisingly very little drone. I only drive it once, maybe twice a week.
Update...got the exhaust done. Highflow cats to full 3" pipping, weld in xpipe, to the Pypes M80s...couldnt have made a better choise. Sounds freakin awesome!
Update!! Dropped the trans ( had to remove bank2 header) and it was in fact a bad throwout bearing. Clutch release fork was kinda worn too so i replaced it as well. Used a premium throwout bearing though, not the one that came with the clutch. New pilot, and rear main seal. Noise gone...
Lol i went through the same thing with my 02 GT and finally landed on Flowtech afterburners...sounded awesome with the o/r x pipe...its my first 4V mustang so kinda wanted to get some good advise instead of changing set ups like my GT. At the same time i wanted a different sound to set mine...
Im doing away with my MAC mufflers and cant decide which bullet style muffler to get between the Magnapacks, Dynomax race bullets, or Kooks race series.. have longtubes with full 3" pipping, true duals(no x/h pipe)...dont ask, i bought it like that, but it sounds pretty good.lol...what do you...
I went ahead and ordered a new clutch kit and flywheel which i will install thursday or friday, so i will have a look at the transmission input shaft. Just really hopping i dont have have a bad trans, since ive read some stuff about bad input shafts on t45s..
So about 4 months ago i started hearing intermittent noises (rattle with some chirping) from inside the bellhousing of my t45 that would go away at times when depressing the clutch or on its own. Sometimes it wouldnt go away even depressing the clutch pedal.. now its worse, it does it all the...
Good...next time you install something like that just bring it back up after a test drive and retorque again. I always do that with any suspension work. Safety and peace of mind.
Sounds like its running fine. I would call it hot if it was running at the L in normal. Mine runs in between o&m, i did a live data check fully warmed up and it was around 193 at idle.
Have you checked the stabilizer/sway bar links and bushings? Sounds like something might not have been torqued enough. Make sure the control arms are well torqued. If you had a blown strut you would have felt it with the oe arms as well. Doesnt sound like a driveline vibe, so in my opinion i...
Update!! After opening up my diff and re-checking backlash and pattern everything was good in the diff. Pinion angle also passed.... transmission inspected and passed....noticed my driveshaft had a slight wobble visible only at low speed (15mph) but didnt cause a vibe at that speed. Decided to...
Thats not a bad price at all for all that....i drive a 4runner as my daily as well, cant go wrong with a Yota daily. Just sold my 72 Fastback...what year lightning? I want to get my hands on one of those if not a Termi.
How did the pilot bearing look?? Did you replace it? ...thanks ill take a look at that, cant spend alot of money on it right now though. Glad its not my daily so i can save up to get it done right.
Yup, sounds similar if not identical to mine. I would think gears or driveshaft issues would vibrate in all gears, not just 5th...hopefully when i replace my clutch it takes care of it.
Forgot to mention it only happens in 5th gear and starts at about 2600 rpm and it goes away if i depress the clutch or if I take it out of gear. Ive taken it to over 80 in 4th and no noise or vibration. Im gona double check backlash and preload. I got under the car with trans in neutral and...
That seems pretty damn identical to my issue. Did you feel vibration through the shifter as well?...im thinking that issue might have been there before the gears, but now that the rotation speed changed throughtout the rpm range i can feel it at cruising speeds. I have to replace the throwout...
