hey guys I have a 98 cobra and I was wondering what is normal battery voltage reading when the car is running... my car from a cold start hooked up through an ultra gauge it reads 14.10 to 3.76... when the cars warms and is at normal operating temps with just normal driving conditions it drops...
no I got a bwd regulator.. it's under a lifetime warranty it was only 62 dollars... much better than spending 260 dollars for a motorcraft alternator...
it's brand new like less than 100 miles.. I can't take it back because it's over the warranty period.. it's not my daily and waited over a month to install it.. so I feel it's cheaper just to get the regulator
dsg2003mach 1 your absolutely right.. I did further test and it was indeed a faulty/quirky voltage regulator within the alternator.... advance auto parts said everything checked out.... I'm glad I was able to finally... so my next question should I just replace the voltage regulator or just buy...
so I took the alternator off and had it bench tested by three different AutoZone's and all of them have said that the alternator is fine... and I know for a fact the battery is fine as well because I bought that brand new two weeks ago and also had them bench test that
so I tried cleaning the terminals and check connections and they all seem right and I still have the issue.... I'm guessing my "new" alternator is faulty....
I have an ultragauge that I use through the obd2 port for my readouts I will add battery voltage to the on screen display for the car... but I will see on trying out the voltage regulator... all of this just happened out of the blue so it's odd because I've owned this car for 3 years and never...

well the alternator I bought a few weeks ago was an ac delco one from Rock Auto it was 160 for it ..... I will check the ground connections to see if they are ok..
hey everyone so I kind of have a problem... so a couple weeks ago I've been having issues with my alternator/guage cluster... lately on my dash the voltage reads low and the lights are dimmer than normal and heat isn't blowing as hard... I have replaced both the battery and alternator and it...
I have a problem in my hands.. I was taking off the bezel that you have to take off to get the the gauge cluster and on the left side of the plastic bezel where I have a valet switch that blinks red.. it's a 3 wire system that was install by ford.. well I ripped one of the wires right off the...
It was on a Dyno jet... I'm not really sure what happened I wasn't there when the tuners did the Dyno... But it doesn't seem right to me.. just don't understand how the whp seems right but the tq seems high.. not complaining if it's true but usually I see around 250-280wtq with similar mods
So I got my 98 cobra Dyno tuned today and my graph shows I made 273whp and 304wtq... Does this seem right... My mods are
Imrc deletes
Flowmasters super 44s
BBk cold air intake
Highflow catted mid pipe
4.30 gears
Tuned
The car has 160,000 miles on it
Hey I was wondering is it possible to do a cam swap with the motor still in the car.. talk to fast lane Motorsports and they said the motor has to come out..
