I have three tunes on my SCT X4. If this handheld tuner fails (which they do, I had SCT X3 die on me), then I lose my three tunes, which is a major disaster.
How the heck can I make emergency backup copies of the tunes? I already know I can't make backup copies to my computer, I had asked the...
Car is 2010 supercharged Roush, 4.6L 3V, 24psi boost, 625rwhp. Earlier this season, I went for a ride and noticed an engine noise. When I revved the engine a little bit, it sounded like a loose timing chain was rubbing against something, so I immediately suspected a broken chain guide.
So I...
RE: Cam phaser Ford part #: 3R2Z-6A257-DA
Does this cam phaser fit both Right & Left? The web site at Tasca Ford says it is for LH (driver side), but I have seen other info indicating this phaser will work for both sides. My engine is 2010 4.6L 3V.
Can someone kindly clarify? Thanks
My car (2010 Roush 'Hammer' 540RH) uses the Ford 03-04 Cobra 4.6L DOHC Crankshaft Pulley Extension: 2R3V-6C254. It is shown circled in Pic #1. (pic rotations messed up, apologies, I can't seem to fix them here)
I am doing timing chains and guides on this engine, and while I'm at it, I want to...
2010 Roush 'Hammer' Supercharged 4.6L 3V - driving along, engine is making a rattling noise. I hear it mostly when driving next to a wall or something that reflects the sound back to me. It is a light noise, sounds kinda like it might be a idler puller or something like that. I am tearing off...
This is not a stock-picking thread, we already have one of those going. I am looking for recommendations on investment newsletters and such. The market & economy is bat-shit crazy right now, and teetering on a knife edge IMHO. I have some money that is sitting in cash, but of course, that is...
2010 Roush Mustang (2010 GT basically). How do I pair my new S21 Samsung Android to Voice Activated Sync? I followed all the instructions in manual, but when attempting to pair to the Ford Sync, my phone (S21 Samsung Android) gives me a message that I need a special app. You'd think the phone...
OK, so this is a car-guy quiz. As far as I can tell, there is only one V6 engine series with an internal water pump. Some of this series (but not all) utilize this design feature. I am curious to see how many of you know which is the correct selection from the 7 choices above?
Here is a pic of...
I am shopping for a pre-owned vehicle. I'm probably gonna go with a large SUV (>6,000lbs GVW), so that I can write it off taxes.
I've got my eyes on a loaded-up 2017 Ford Explorer. It's a beautiful vehicle, but it has 49k miles, plus it has twin-turbo V6 engine. I've been studying up on these...
First of the Pastrana Gymkhana videos was released today - I was not disappointed. The guy is crazzzzzzzy, haha.
I think the thing I find most entertaining is Pastrana's facial expressions. Block was always just a straight-faced and focused, Pastrana actually looked a little scared during...
Well, after 40+ years of wrenching and owning two service stations, I finally rebuilt a diff! Don't ask me why, but for some reason I always regarded the process as some sort of dark art or voodoo magic. Terms like 'pinion preload' and 'crush sleeve' and 'backlash' just didn't sit right with me...
Is anyone using FORScan to tweak factory settings? As you may (or may not) know, FORScan is software (a hex editor, I think), used in conjunction with a specific type of OBDII adapter, that enables you to make changes to your vehicle's default modules' settings. It is designed especially for...
So I'm completely rebuilding my 8.8 diff (2010 Roush Mustang), and noticed that the carrier bearings have spun on hub. The bearing on the ring gear side fell right off when I picked out the carrier from the housing! You can see (in the pic) the hub is all scored up. I ordered a brand new Ford...
Diff whine was getting worse, took cover off, metal in fluid, chipped spiders, total rebuild in process.
I was inspecting things as I was removing them, and this pinion bearing caught my eye. If you look at the pic, you can see a huge gap under the bearing (.062" actually). The shop that worked...
I'm getting sick of all the whining ;) so I'm gonna rebuild the rear end (2010 8.8 with 3.55).
EDIT: I found the cause of all the whining. Took cover off and saw metal particles in fluid, plus noticed chipped teeth on some spider gears. Soooo, time for complete rebuild..................o_O
I...
My shift boot is worn. I've looked around with no luck for a replacement. I don't think my shift boot is 'stock', but I'm not 100% sure. The car is a Roush 2010 with Tremec Magnum XL and a Roush shift handle. Can anyone point me towards a vendor that might carry (or be able to make) a shift boot...
I'm looking for a 'drape' style indoor car cover. Pic below is my car with cover on it, and the cover just hangs down at the sides, there is no elastic at all. I like this style for ease of use, plus the car sits inside so it doesn't get blown off. My cover is old and dry rotted, starting to...
I have a line on a set of brand new 'take-off' wheels and tires for my wonderful old truck ('03 Chevy Silverado). The wheels/tires are off a 2019 truck and are already fitted with TPMS sensors. Is there any sort of aftermarket device which would allow me to sync up to the GM TPMS and get the...
S197 - 2010 Roush Mustang. Is there any way to lighten the overall steering effort? I'm not looking to get zero effort, I just want it to be a little easier when turning the wheel during normal driving. It probably doesn't help that the factory wheels are 10" wide.
If anyone has suggestions...
There is a 'Cars & Coffee' coming up on October 5th, which could be one of the biggest ever attended in Newport (or maybe even the country). It is part of the Concours d’Elegance, sponsored by Audrain Museum. The C&C is being held at Fort Adams, from 8am - 10am. The really neat thing about this...
My 8.8 diff whines - under light load - starting at ~35mph. If I let off the gas, no whine. Vehicle has 20k miles. I took off the cover and measured backlash at .020", which is over what the specs call for (.008" - .012").
My question is: if I adjust the backlash back to factory spec (without...
I've been using AT&T cell service for 15 years. The past few years have witnessed an incredible surge of spam/scam calls on my cell. It's pizzing me off to no end.
For the past 6 months, I've been using HIYA, which is a well-known spam blocker with generally good ratings. HIYA works OK, but...
