The thing about new diesels is, emissions killed the fuel economy. I have three kids and tow a lot. My F350 crew cab is a towing, kid hauling machine, but the best I’ve done is 16 mpg unloaded. If I didn’t need it’s capacity I’d be looking at a 150.
The rear calipers on the Cobra aren't as straight forward as the fronts to do a pad swap. If your not familiar with them FTBR has a video on the pad change you should watch first.
If you hadn’t done any work to it before you put it away the thermostat would be the first thing I’d change. If you did anything to the cooling system, then I’d figure it’s air bound and go through the refill and burp routine.
Definitely take your time. I looked for six months for mine. The market section here is a good source. Once you know what you want post a wanted ad and you’ll definitely get responses, maybe even some gems from owners who have been on the fence about parting with their Cobras. Good luck

I put a MAC intake on mine. Simple intake tube, bracket and large washable filter. Inexpensive and a clean easy install. You might want to look at Amsoils remote mount filters. Quality kit with twin filters. I mounted mine on the drivers side frame rail, besides the extra filtering capacity it...
Saw a show on Velocity where a guy stored motor parts submerged in oil to make sure no air could get to the metal and allow corrosion. Maybe you can put them in a rubber maid tub and cover them with an inexpensive motor oil
Just had all of that apart. Both those hoses attach to the egr tube. There are two nipples side by side on the tube down by the bell housing. I had the tube out to do the head cooling mod, you may be able to get your hand up there to put a new hose on. If you decide to take the tube out you’ll...
I need to learn to multi quote. Anyway, if your doing a sc swap it’s going to be real easy. Sc in the trick (and the pita) is to get everything out of the way.
Freeze plug 9 o’clock worked like a champ, popped right out. Egr wasn’t an issue like you said,I only had to wrap the tube more on top to protect the harness.
I sold my 7.3 with 260k on it. As mentioned cps was an issue, but the updated one never failed. Glow plug controller, glow plugs and wires for hard cold starts was an issue, but an easy and fairly cheap fix. The injectors went bad around 240k, but I had been running the truck on veg. For about...
