2002 mustang gt tork tech swap

Can you data log it and send the info to vmp to see if they can adjust the tune?

    Power estimates on coming build

Around 500 is what I was guessing. He will be going from a 240 rwhp 2v to this. A better blower would be too much of a jump I think. (Not to mention a big chunk of $) He can drive it with the stock blower for a few years and if he wants more power then he can upgrade down the road. I'm going...

    Power estimates on coming build

I recently purchased an 03 termi engine complete. Came with a 2.75 pulley and a belt wrap pulley but otherwise stock. Plan is to tear it down, rebuild it with some upgrades and put it into my sons 03 GT auto.(auto is already built to take power but will have to upgrade to a multi clutch...

They are the same diameter at the seal/bearing end so they both use the same bearings and seals

Terminator engine swap into 03 GT

Ok that is what I thought. Easier to just modify the gt harness. Thank you very much!

Terminator engine swap into 03 GT

That's a bunch of great info. Is it possible to just use the cobra harness in a gt?

Terminator engine swap into 03 GT

I understand about the boost/charge temp sensor. No way to wire that in since the gt pcm never used it. I think there is a stand alone knock sensor system I can get and wire into the pcm. I think with the alternator i might just have to switch 2 wires around like the coils? For the intercooler...

Terminator engine swap into 03 GT

I just purchased an 04 terminator complete engine (pan to blower, accessories, harnesses) that I'm going to rebuild and then swap into my sons 03 GT auto but have a few questions. Since his car is auto I'm going to have to use his engine/trans harness and PCM. I know I have to extend the coil...

    Budget 2v Project

I built the 4r70w in my car using one of their kits, some other stronger aftermarket internals and cryo hardening all internals. Great kit they sell. If they build your trans you shouldn't have any problems. Just a hint....they have great sales for black friday.

    Budget 2v Project

Well you know your goal. Time to start making a list of the parts you will need to get there. Obviously time to start saving up $ as well. Also start looking around in your area and talking to people. Find out about good local tuners, performance shops and engine builders. You will eventually...

    Budget 2v Project

Just remember, whatever you do to the car, you will be lucky to get back $0.25 on the dollar if you eventually sell the car. I bought my 04 3 years ago and it came with about $8.5k in aftermarket parts installed including a vortech and I only paid $8900.

    Budget 2v Project

What you need to start with is a budget. How much are you willing to spend total? That will decide how much power you can build reliably. My bottom end is going to cost about $3300 which includes the cost of the block that I purchased about 2 years ago, used and new internals, machine work...

    Budget 2v Project

I'm going to have my teksid block built soon with a used terminator crank and rods with new diamond pistons. Should be good to hold 800hp and I think it was the cheapest way I could do it. My goal will only be 500 rwhp though. You might want to look into doing something similar and save some...

    Budget 2v Project

If 800hp is the goal it will be VERY expensive.

    Budget NA 4v

Just get a tune if you haven't already. Not worth opening the engine until you do your build.

    What tire to run

The width of the tire contact to the ground will depend on the width of the wheel you mount it on. I have that exact tire mounted on 10.5" wide wheels and they look pretty wide to the eye. Mounted to wider wheels they would look even better though and have a larger contact patch with the ground...

    Budget 2v Project

The car is cheap enough for a project but nothing is cheap with mod engines. You might be looking at twice your stated budget to both fix it up (general maintenance) and make it fast and that is just for parts. Labor would be extra if you weren't doing all the work yourself. If you went with...

Help with long term fuel trim bank 1

If you already know that the grommet is damaged then replace it. Clear the codes. Drive/run the car and see which codes if any return. Make sure to check the fuel neck under the plastic cover they zip tie around it. They like to rot out in there and get holes. If yours has holes starting, or...

Help with long term fuel trim bank 1

Fuel trims are always trying to reach 0. If it's a + fuel trim the computer is adding extra fuel to get to 0. If it's a - fuel trim the computer is subtracting fuel to get to 0. Since your one bank is + high that bank is lean, or at least the computer thinks its lean.

Help with long term fuel trim bank 1

If a fuel trim is high enough to set a code then you either have a vacuum leak, an exhaust leak, an injector problem or an O2 sensor problem. At least those are the problems that are most common.

Question regarding max power on stock bottom end

On a very safe tune my supercharged 04 GT auto put down 380rwhp. (Would be over 400 with a stick) My tuner, who is very well respected in my area, told me that's as far as I can reliably go with the stock bottom end. The rods and pistons can't reliably hold more than that according to him. He...

    Stall converter

I guess that's true. I put both coolers and aluminum pans on both my 04 and my sons 03 when I built the transmissions. They only have 2400 converters in them right now but i figured it was worth the $ to make them last as long as possible considering how much I spent building them.

    Stall converter

Those are high stalls for a street car. I'd reccomend using a deep aluminum trans pan to help keep the fluid cool.
