    Fuel economy while tracking

5.6 mpg at Grattan Raceway in my R.

    R guys....question about tire fitment

I took a different approach: I run 305/30-19 MPSS all around on my R-spec SV501s. Slightly more stretch in back vs. the stock 315 Cups Slightly less stretch in front vs. the stock 305 Cups This is because the MPSS (and the MP4S) have more of a square section profile and slightly wider tread...

    GT350R splitter hardware

Will do ASAP - have to dig out the receipt. I used the part numbers from the GT350R splitter install PDF that @Tob shared in another thread.

    GT350R splitter hardware

Just to close this out, I ended up going out of pocket but getting the parts online (Tasca). $35 but it saved a trip to the dealer and the headache of explaining what they did wrong, and the splitter is 100% correctly attached now and rock solid.

    GT350R splitter hardware

Time is money. If it were $100, it would be worth the trip to the dealer and the fight. For $35, just not worth the hassle. I hear you on the principle, though. I'm pissed off about it and will be even more reluctant to let the dealer touch the car in the future.

    GT350R splitter hardware

Thanks Terrance! I think I'm good now but will hit you up if something goes wrong (or if I break mine when they show up!).

    GT350R splitter hardware

Thanks. Was hoping to avoid waiting for shipping, but the local dealer (who probably threw away the original hardware) wanted $75 for all of it. Was able to get it online for about half that. In other news, got the Caliperfexion studs installed today (finally!). And the oil is changed and the...

    GT350R splitter hardware

I removed the splitter from my R this weekend to install a front tow hook solutions (went with the ZL1 Addons to avoid modifying the grille). I was upset to find that the dealer left off several fasteners when installing the splitter: - the 4 black screws that go up into the splitter at a 45*...

    GT350R Billet Badges in Stock!!!!!

I also credit the effort, though I am not the target market (almost every car I've owned up to now has been de-badged).

    GT350R Billet Badges in Stock!!!!!

Huh, at least just measuring on my screen the R does appear to be narrower than the other characters. More broadly, I guess I question why? Is it for people who need to be sure everyone knows their R is an R?

    The sacrifices we make...

Makes sense, and I figured as much but hadn't looked into it at all. I have no kids, so not an issue ... yet.

    ‘18MY 350R Production

If one looks at the long-term history of virtually any limited-production performance car, you'll see the same thing. Limited short-term depreciation, moderate mid-term depreciation, long-term appreciation. A few examples: 1) Porsche 911 turbo. Pick ANY generation. Expensive cars, hold value...

    ‘18MY 350R Production

Scanning completed auctions on Ebay shows that most Rs (even used ones) are still being bid up to $70-80k. Not sure why dealers would be selling new Rs for MSRP when used Rs are bringing MSRP+ on the auction block. I do note that a lot of these are not selling, which means sellers are holding...

    The sacrifices we make...

Nice that they make it R-specific with the red stitching. If one were to only put a child seat back there, what would be the issue with only installing seat belt receptacles and notching the seat delete panel vs. installing the full seat? The LATCH anchors are still in place from the factory...

GT350/R Price Drop? Time to Buy?

I'd be interested in knowing this, too. Given what Ford pays Multimatic for those wings, they must work because it's a meaningful percentage of the Base/R price delta (if rumors are to be believed). In fact, considering the R-specific development costs for DSC, ABS, and the aero, as well as the...

Fiesta ST: to buy or not to buy

See the "real back seat and hatch" comment. I love the balance of the BRZ I drove, but I already have a few impractical cars. A Miata could also be super fun, despite the girly reputation. The ST is just as fun, and it is a pretty practical runabout to boot. We've had 4 adults and a 2-yo in a...

Fiesta ST: to buy or not to buy

I have a GT350R and a Fiesta ST ('14, white with two-tone black/orange interior). In white, the ST doesn't attract too much attention. The cars are as different as you can get, but on the street, the ST is more fun almost every time. The R is great when you can open it up. The ST is fun if...

GT350/R Price Drop? Time to Buy?

Out of the box, Randy Pobst went nearly 3 seconds quicker at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in an R vs. a non-R. To be totally scientific, you'd want to run the non-R on the R tires to see what difference is "left." I agree that the on-paper spec differences are minor: wheels, aero, exhaust...

GT350/R Price Drop? Time to Buy?

I have a hunch they are going even further than that; I'm curious what the GT500 will borrow from the lessons of the FGT. Not a lot crosses over (though the GT uses basically the same brakes as the GT350, except for the carbon-ceramic discs), but I think we will see a surprising amount of tech...

GT350/R Price Drop? Time to Buy?

Not sure about that; I've been tracking completed listing on Ebay for the better part of a year, and a lot of used Rs are trading hands north of $80k. Haven't checked in the last couple of months, but as of August that was still the case.

Ordered a 2018 Hellcat. But Love the GT350

People said the same thing about fuel injection. "You can't tune that! A computer controls it!" They said the same thing about cars with variable valve timing, and cars with direct injection. Give it 10 years, people will figure out how to tinker and the costs of a screw-up will come down as the...

    ‘18MY 350R Production

Huh. That's an interesting perspective. In F1, of course, there are real differences in speed across the field as they are less "balanced" vs. Nascar (spec) or most sports car classes with BoP penalties. I think the most relevant data point is speed relative to one's teammate, in (ostensibly)...

Noticed GT 350 being sold after short ownership

Not sure, but my anecdotal evidence is zero oil consumption in 3200 miles (first oil change at 1400 miles). I pulled a few tablespoons into the passenger side separator on track, but not enough to show low on the dipstick. No consumption and no oil in the separators under normal driving. I like...

    First Voodoo drive

Eh. I'm average height and weight (5'10" 180), reasonably fit, broad-shouldered for my height, and I find the Recaros extremely comfortable. The set in my Fiesta ST are actually narrower at the hips/waist, but I fit in those, too. I think you'd have to be 35"+ at the waist to find the Recaros...
