I can't find the link for the thread for installation of dual fuel pumps. Where is the most detailed source of information. I'm pretty sure I can't use the 03/04 Cobra fuel hat and I don't know how to add the hole for the additional fuel line.
Thanks
Yes, it will work. If it came from another Cobra it should be fine. Those are the only short blocks I know of that will have the eight bolt crank you require. You will have to change out the nipple behind the water pump. You can use the Mustang GT nipple from 99 to 04. They are cheaper. I...
I'm going to run the On3 turbo setup and they require you to convert to the UPR K-member that uses coil overs. It's nice to hear that the ride pretty much sucks stock or with coil overs. Oh well, I had never had a Mustang prior to my 99 Cobra. I was surprised how terrible these things ride...
With the car standing still, when I put the transmission into 1st gear I get a thunk sound. Also when I shift into 2nd, I get the thunk sound also. In both instances the clutch is pushed in. If I'm extremely easy on the shift it doesn't happen. Does this seem like a transmission issue or an...
I just finished rebuilding my engine. There are 6 places that require silicon: (2) on the timing cover are where the oilpan, timing cover, and block meet ; (2) where the heads meet the block; (2) where the timing cover, block and valve cover meet. Run an 1/8" bead of silicon/RTV in those areas...
Looking for some rear rotors on the cheap that aren't entirely crap. The Motorcraft rotors seem to be to expensive to justify the price. Any experiences good or bad with cheaper aftermarket rotors?
Not a problem. You live and learn. I didn't beat the crap out of it to get it on. I ended up taking it back off and putting it on with the appropriate tools because I hadn't used RTV on the key. I had just been rushing because I didn't want to leave the car in my drive way any longer because...
Holy shit, I thought I remembered there not being a gasket on the Passenger side exhaust. Boy was I wrong. I even looked it up in the factory manual and it doesn't show it. Tasca didn't show it in it's exploded parts view either. When I went a ahead and removed the head pipe again and...
They should be the same for nearly all 4.6 engines. So the any junk yard should have them. They were the same bolts on my '99 as they were on a 2010 Crown Vic engine I pulled.
I reused my exhaust gaskets in rebuilding my engine. I have an exhaust leak, but I'm not sure if it's coming from the gasket or the where the manifold meets the header pipe. I applied some extra torque to the lower bolts on the manifold. I could get to the upper bolts (unless someone knows...
It's a T45. I just panicked because I just rebuilt the engine and started the break-in and I was like all ****, I ****ed up the trans and I'm going to have to take that aggravating mother ****er back out. Luckily, it was the white plastic bushing that the shifter ball end goes in. It had...
I recently put the transmission back into my '99 Cobra after rebuilding the engine. I had never driven the car before and the previous owner swears it worked fine; however, I can't get the car to go into first or third. Reverse seems to work. It has an Exedy clutch and I replace the throw out...
I believe I indicated that I was under the assumption that it was like a Chevrolet so it wasn't a matter of trying not to do it the "right" way. I'm not sure your way is the right way as it is not indicated to do it that way by the factory. I will admit is more favorable. I ended up taking it...
I recently installed my harmonic balancer using a dead blow hammer and then drove it in the rest of the way with the bolt as soon as I got it. This is how I put them on with Chevrolets. I then looked for the torque spec when I saw that there was the possiblity of damaging the thrust bearing...
I'm looking for a professional thread on torquing ARP 2000 head studs. I believe there are no torque steps, and you simply torque them down to 85 ft*lbs in one go. Of course this done according to sequence.I'm looking for a professional thread on torquing ARP 2000 head studs. I believe there...
I'm checking fitment of my GT500 oil pan gasket to my oil pan and it doesn't line up when I sit in place. My feeling is that the factory gasket did and so should this one in order not to leak. Where the gasket seems to have the most trouble is at the back of the pan where the lip of the windage...
I hate to be posing a question like this but I ordered some parts online from them a month and I have not received an update and their phone number has gone to voice mail. I figured one of the Ford heads on this forum would know.
I still have not selected a power adder for my '99 Cobra and wish to run it normally aspirated for now. The setup I have has 96-98 intake cams, and 03/04 exhaust on 03/04 heads with a a 9.3-9.4:1 compression. My questions are: Can I set the advance on all the cams to zero after degreeing until...
I just finished the rebuild on my shortblock and I'm almost ready to assemble the rest of the engine. I have not selected a power adder yet, but what is the easiest modification to make to fuel system to ensure I will have enough fuel for a turbo or SC setup that yields around 700 hp to the...
