Like the title says, I have an 04 Cobra and am looking to get rid of the irs. I've had both and prefer the sra. I will post an add locally to see if someone is looking to do the trade. Should I get any money on top? If so around how much? My irs has around 98k miles, all of the bushings look...
Yeah, that's on the bottom of the list since the truck will be down a day or two. Mainly because am sure it's super dirty so I will let everything soak overnight in some degreaser, recently did it to my Cobra and it sucked. I need to put an oil seperator on it pretty soon, read that the l&s is a...
So ive been trying to get my truck running 100% lately, so far i changed out the spark plugs, all of the coils, air filter, fuel filter, complete oil change, cleaned the mass air flow and IAC. Next i will be replacing the two front 02 sensors with bosch replacements and fuel pumps. I was going...
I have some heads that need to be rebuilt and a shortblock that needs to be balanced and assembled. I was looking at excessive racing engines in pearland since they do their own machine work in house, has anybody had any experience with them? Or does anybody recommend another place? This is for...
Am only rebuilding the motor because my last one melted a piston. I found a good deal on all of these parts as a complete set. Am willing to sell those pistons and run some 18cc if I have to since I don't have the money to upgrade to e85 yet. The car will be on 93 octane with a stock pulley...

Would I need pistons made specifically for a decked .010 block or would that only change my compression? I know the ones I have now are Manley platinum series pistons (extreme duty) 3.572 bore with stainless ring set for 3.572 bore.
So would I need some that are 3.572 bore to match the block...
It's actually been decked .010 Would that make any difference? Am planning on just selling them and getting some 18cc so what will my comp numbers be with stock heads and gaskets considering the block has been decked .010
No, just came up on a good package deal for a shortblock, it isn't assembled yet, I might just sell them and get some 18cc Is there any way to bump up the compression or would it be cheaper to sell the pistons and get some other ones.
Some of it scrapes off but am just going to let the machine shop check them out. They are 9 thread heads, the idiot owner before me was running 600hp on stock fuel pumps and a boost a pump, doesn't even have head cooling mod
I found a ported eaton for $300 so am going to buy it and sell the tvs, injectors and mafia sensor, I'll bring the car back to stock but atleast I'll have money to rebuild the motor. Can I use the tuner to return back to stock tune or will i have to take it back to the guys who tuned the car?
heads don't look to bad, there's just build up from the piston melting I'll post links of everything so you guys can click the and look at a bigger picture, I believe having them cut will save them, what do yall think

Finally opened up my motor, turns out some of you guys were right it wasn't just the rings. Piston 6/7 melted, and 8 had a little damage am guessing a chunk of 7 went into 8. There is some build up on the heads from the pistons melting would I be ok with just getting them cut and re using them...
I'll know in a couple of days what the damage is. If my pistons are good and the walls on the cylinders are not damaged i will just do rings and bearings, just to get it back on the road. I will bring the power back down to around 450. Am not trying to make big power just want to enjoy the car...
Am going to pull the motor and tear it apart this week, I'll keep you guys updated. Any advice on a BUDGET build would be helpful I just want to get it back on the road. Am going to put back the eaton and bring everything back to stock. With that being said can i use the handheld tuner I have...
