Here's the thread from my build. I didn't get into the internals, but I did the cams and timing components. I also show some of the other little things needed like the harness wiring. Might be useful to see what you're getting into...
I dont necessarily need them to be quiet. I just want something with a nice deep sound, and that won't wake up the neighborhood when I get on it. Don't need people thinkin' I'm some sort of attention whore.
I had a MAC Prochamber on one of my old 84 5.0s. I liked it, but it took them about 7 months to ship it to me.
I've got BBK longtubes and catted H-pipe. 44s sound like what I'm looking for. Whats wrong with the 50s?
I've been thinking about switching to different mufflers. I'm running the Flowmaster 40s right now, but one of them has been rattling. Sounds like part of the baffle is loose or something. I like how they sound, but I'd like something with a deeper tone to it. I care more about the sound, then...
Get the 4V. It's a great engine, I swapped one in from a Mach after the 2V in my GT blew up. Whenever I move onto the next Mustang, I'm either pulling this motor out for it, or getting an actual Mach 1. No more 2V for me.
I would put these on the must-do list before buttoning up the engine and...
I recently swapped a Mach 1 motor into my GT, and went with the auto so I could use my GT's flywheel (engine is mated to a TR-3650). At the same time, I also installed the intake cams from the 96-98 Cobras to bump up the HP on the top end. The idiot that I am, didn't take the lower rev limit...
Just dropped a 4V in my car and got a small leak at the heater inlet pipe, must have poked it with that stupid firewall bolt when lowering it in. I can't find this thing anywhere, and I can't even get a reliable part-number for it. If anybody knows where I can find the proper inlet pipe for the...
Are the 03-04 Mach 1 engine harnesses worth trying to sell? I was thinking about just cutting off the COP and alternator parts to splice onto my GT harness for my 4V swap. I can't imagine many people needing to replace their engine harness.
Im swapping some 98 Cobra cams into my 03 32V motor, and was hoping to advance them using the HP9s. However, everywhere I read I keep seeing people saying that you need the HP9s AND the adjustable crank gear to advance them. I haven't been able to figure out the reasoning for this. The HP9s can...
I'm in the process of swapping a 4V into my GT and was thinking about the CAI today. I was originally planning to just get a reducer to connect my old GT intake pipe. Would I suffer much from running my old BKK 3" pipe on these engines, or would this be too restrictive and be more advisable to...
Need a set of longtubes for a 4v motor. Not picky about the brand, but hoping to save some money. Only looking to spend about $250-300. If I dont find anything in that range, I'll just pick up some Pacesetters for $250 for now.
I also have a set of BBK longtubes for the 2v if anyone has a need...
Just got a 98k mile motor from an 03 Mach 1. Turns over good, and didn't see any metal or coolant in the oil (they didn't drain it before shipping). Was told it ran good and got good compression, but never got around to getting the test numbers. It's pretty dirty, but haven't seen any signs of...
I'm planning a 4v swap into an 01 GT, and have started to notice that getting a typical 100-150k used motor from an Aviator would cost around the same as getting a cheap core motor for about $400, then rebuilding it with new pistons, gaskets, bearings, etc., depending on the machine work needed...
I'm looking for a T-Top '82 Mustang. Doesn't need to be a show car, but at least in decent condition, little or no rust. Faded paint, etc, is ok. Interior doesn't need to be perfect, since I plan to update most of it anyway. Tears in the seats and what-not is ok, as long as the dash/wiring is...
