I don't disagree.
I know what pinging sounds like, and I would get off the gas pedal if I heard it. I was south of Fresno, CA when I first installed my 725HP FR/Whipple kit with ProCal tune. I would get mild to moderate pinging at WOT with fresh top tier 91 octane. Thankfully, I re-located...
When my engine needs to be rebuilt, I am doing it ONCE, all in the right way for my application. JDM Engineering will be handling my build and tuning; I am very fortunate that they are within driving distance from my home. If I were to hurt the engine a second time, I would be parting out and...
You should be monitoring AFR among other vital systems. AeroForce Interceptor with a wideband O2 sensor is one monitoring solution. You can record a WOT run and playback, so you don't have to stare at the guage at full throttle.
Could be a coil pack not fully seated on the plug, loose spark plug blowout (unlikely), or loose coil pack connector if not reinstalled correctly. I take my time and pay close attention to detail when replacing my spark plugs. Check electrical and vacuum connections on your CAI and anything...
If switching to an aluminum driveshaft, you should install a safety loop: Free Shipping on all BMR Suspension packages!
Do verify your pinion/driveline angle while the driveshaft is removed. It is easier to measure on the flat transmission output flange and rear pinion flange surfaces.
I...
The stock air box might be a restriction. With an original JLT 113mm or newer 123mm Cold Air Intake, I could see it making 544ish with similar torque, as stated above. That was a fun combo back in my car's early years, and the torque hit and blower whine was cool!
H&R Sport springs are a great option for lowering while providing a good balance between comfort and performance. The springs are not harsh, but travel is obviously decreased with 1" lowering springs by design. I installed Bilstein HD struts and shocks, and coupled with my H&R Sport springs...
I have been around long enough to remember what you went through, and I have seen a couple of other L&M engines eat themselves. For that kind of money and no warranty on a "race engine".... needless to say they are NOT on my very short list of potential engine builders.
Yep, sounds like something in the rear axle let go. I have an OEM 2008 GT500 takeoff rear axle with approx 58k miles that I just removed from my car. If it gives you options and minimizes down time for you, I'll make you a good deal. If you are in VA, we are within driving distance to make an...
Thanks! Unless you can do all of the work yourself, the cost of parts and labor to restore, modify, and rebuild easily put you in the ballpark of the cost of a new M88. I had less down time, and I still have a used rearend that I can sell to offset the expense.
Great question and good point to bring up. I just checked the block for 3.55 gear set on the online order form, not generally concerned with potential whine from that ratio. Moser has a disclaimer that states that they have multiple vendors that supply their build components, and their...
Thank you Sir! It was really difficult to justify the expense of a new rear axle or updating the old one according to my specs when there was nothing obviously wrong with the old part other than it was an eye sore. With general support for our platform phasing out, rising costs due to...
I don’t intentionally try it but haven’t had any stability issues with the RIIs aired up to 30psi. If you stick with a XXX/35RXX profile sidewall or smaller, I think you would be pleased with their performance on the street.
For a high powered muscle car / sport touring / street car: Nitto NT555G2 in front, NT555RII in rear. I would not put RIIs in the rear of a handling car; you can tell that the sidewall is not as firm as a similar sized Michelin, but mine haven't tried to kill me yet. I have had butt puckering...
Alejandro "Alex" Flores on YouTube is currently dealing with a questionable 5.8L engine re-build from Wonder Racing. Do your own research.
JDM Engineering is still my shop of choice for reasons previously cited in linked thread above.
$89.60 for a pack of 4 screws??!! Bidenflation is out of control!!! I would head down to my local Fastenal store and pay a small fraction of that price for a suitable replacement.
I am fairly confident that these are the OEM fuel rail bolts that I removed when installing my Whipple kit. The measurements are from the bolt with washer that Whipple provided to replace the OEM bolts, which are the same dimensions.
No issue... the window will rub when opening but it won't damage anything... done the same myself on a couple of occasions. I would connect the battery before attempting to close the door with the window fully up though. After re-connecting the battery, you will need to re-synch the window...
Thanks! The semi-gloss black powdercoat application does look great! The axle tubes are welded and thicker, and it has some additional bracing. The DSS CF driveshaft is rated at 1000+ horsepower. I wanted it for the looks and drivetrain NVH dampening. I am going to remove the dampener that...
A couple of well packaged parts showed up at my home also...
