I honestly didn't like my Gen 2 until drove it a lot and got used to it. I was so used to sloppy shifting with the stock unit, the preciseness annoyed me. Give it some time. I did notice a little NVH from the console/shifter area but I haven't taken it apart to investigate, its not that bad.
For sale is a VMP 72 mm TB. I bought this from BJ in November but, determined its a little to big for my application so its gotta go. Asking $475.00 shipped lower 48 plus PP fees. Open to reasonable offers, mainly looking to just get my money back so I can buy an appropriate TB.
I used to have to do the same thing as every year after I bring it out of storage. I just short cycled the NYS inspection so it lands in the fall and I have a whole summer of driving it to cycle the sensors
Bummer dude, I've used a lube locker gasket on my 8.8 and a 9 inch rear ends, no RTV, no problems. It seems obvious but did you make sure there are no burrs and the mating surfaces were clean before the install or the new diff cover doesn't have some sort of defect?
