    5.0 F150 A/C Compressor Clutch

I can't speak for everyone, but I can 100% say this will not have any impact on mine. I almost never use my A/C, and it's even more rare that I leave it on when I turn the truck off. Every time this has happened to me was when I pressed the A/C button to turn it on. I actually kind of thought...

    5.0 F150 A/C Compressor Clutch

My 2015 has done this a couple times also. I've already replaced one of the belts and tensioners, but I don't remember if it was that one or not. That was probably 60k+ miles ago though.

    Ordered a F150 (odd spec)

I'm on my second crew cab/6.5'/36gal truck and I can't see having it any other way. I'd like to be on my third right now (coming up on 130k), but I just can't justify it.

For those who have tinted windows, do you highly recommend ceramic over regular tint?

The only vehicle I have that's tinted is my Mustang, because it's still illegal in Iowa and I don't want to be hassled in my daily drivers. I went with non-ceramic because it sits inside most of the time and when I do drive it, it's almost always with the windows down. If I were to tint a DD, it...

    What say ye?

My neighbor's daughter just turned 21 and has her Venmo tag written on her car. The handout mentality is out of control. MAYBE if the kid was actually the one to ask, but since it's the adult it would be a hell no just because of that alone. I'm guessing that kid has never been told no in her life.

    What does your wife drive

My wife drives a middle of the road optioned Ford Edge SE AWD. It has heated leather and the 8" screen, but other than that it's pretty much basic. She doesn't care what she drives and would probably be driving around a $500 beater if it weren't for me refusing to have a rusted out shitbox in my...

Roof damaged by hail - questions about roof replacement and impact to insurance

I had a full replacement roof and gutters done by insurance in 2021 and it didn't impact my rates. It started from having an appraisal done on my house and the guy said I should contact my insurance because I had storm damage. I did, insurance confirmed and told me to find the contractor I'd...

    20 Years Ago Today...

There's been a long standing policy against deleting accounts here, so if it existed, it likely still exists as whatever username it was back then. We've also always been selective when it came to username changes, if a user had a troubled past we usually would not grant them a name change.

    Government regulation strikes again...

I have been flying drones since 2017 and have never had an issue. It takes 10 minutes and $5 to register them, and most of the "rules" actually halfway make sense. Don't fly over 400', don't fly in controlled airspace (around airports), don't fly over crowds, etc. Now if you want to fly for...

    Bourbon draw. Your first pick?

One of my local grocery stores is doing a bottle raffle tomorrow night. I'm not going to even bother going, I'm not interesting in standing in line waiting for them to possibly draw my name for the "opportunity" to buy a bottle. Most of them are a little over retail, but not terrible. It'll...

    Wifi - Extender Guru's

I missed this post before my last reply. A wireless bridge is definitely going to be a challenge here. You could MAYBE get by with one if you go with a 900Mhz radio, but even then it's unlikely it'll be reliable. You're definitely going to need to run some cable, and fiber is going to be your...

    Wifi - Extender Guru's

I have about 100 Ubiquiti devices deployed for various things. This one is a bridge between a house and a barn, then the barn feeding three other houses and a solar array for family members who live around the farm. The longest one is about two miles away if I remember right. I mostly use...

New cars and their safety features

A friend of mine and his wife bought a 2021 or 2022 Subaru. He's told me several times that it freaked out when there was nothing around and jerked the wheel. Yeah, no thanks.
