I watched the cameras for a few. Long enough to see you wave. :)
That was almost painful to watch. I got to see the factory-installed swirl marks put in on delivery vehicle #6, as that lady was trying to scrub the clearcoat off. And then I saw some presumably random strangers get to sit in...
They tell you that turning your hobby into a job makes it feel like a job and takes the fun out of it. That was certainly true for me. The whole $ for knives thing totally turned me off of making knives for a while. That's when I decided that I was just going to make what I wanted, when I...
I'm currently driving one. 2019 with the air ride suspension. I've only got 12k miles on the truck so far, but it's been fantastic. Mine stays in the garage most nights, and I live in Northern Alabama, so your mileage may vary.
Being able to lower the truck 2 inches at a touch of a button makes...
Thanks!
Maybe someday. Folders are typically many more parts, and a lot more precision. I think a mill and a lathe would be a minimum to break into that realm.
Don't mind at all.
So that model is 9" OAL, with a ~4" blade. 1/4" 80CrV2 stock. With simple G10 handle scales and a simple Kydex sheath, I charged $100 each. For the hybrid resin/wood scales, I'd have to charge about $150 just because I have more money (and a good bit more time) tied up in the...
I've actually sold several thus far, but I keep telling myself that selling them is a perk, and not the goal. I enjoy the creative bits too much to start making them to customer specs. The knives in the bottom pic up there are the design I came up with after making 20+ one-offs of different...
I know a bunch of you guys are like me and love watching Forged in Fire. For me, my interest in knife making started about 8 years ago with a video on Youtube called "The Birth of a Tool." A couple years ago, I decided to give it a try, just doing basic stock removal. Not wanting to sink a lot...
It's been a stressful few days thus far. That being said, my three school-age children have fairly well-defined goals, and the teachers are working hard to make sure the content is structured and available. My fourth grader's teachers also have a standing meeting in place for students that have...
+1 on the P320. We went to the range a few months ago to try and find my wife a pistol she liked. Guy next to us had a P320 with a red dot, and my wife was like, "What's that?" A few minutes later, I look over my shoulder and she's not there any more. Go to the next bay, and she's drilling out...
Smells like jealousy in here...
"I wish I had a McLaren and I don't and you want to do something to it that I don't personally agree with and therefore I'm going to call you names because I'm 12."
It's a polarizing color. If you like it, go for it. However, if one of these fine folks starts...
You do you. I like crazy wraps. It's like a hair cut. If you don't like it, you change it next time.
I feel like vinyl wraps are the new "black vs. chrome wheel" thing. Everybody has a strong feeling one way or the other.
I wrapped my Miata in a color changing vinyl. Cost me $500. If people...
Agreed. You never really know the lengths someone went to when it comes to that kind of stuff.
For example, I bought my C7 used, and the previous owner had vinyl stripes installed. After I'd had the car for about a year, I wanted to ditch the stripes because I didn't know how long they'd been...
What he said. Nothing else required. In my case, I wrapped the car myself. So a quick IPA wipe down was all that was necessary before I coated with ceramic.
It's been coated for 6 months, and it's still really stupid simple to clean.
I decided to give Adam's Spray Ceramic a try, because it works on paint and vinyl. In particular, it's okay to use on matte/satin vinyl finishes. Used it on my satin wrapped Miata and I couldn't be happier. Makes cleaning stupid simple.
