That sucks man. I would do a compression check or leak down to verify the health of the motor..... Then after that I'd want to lay eyes on the the crank/rods before throwing any serious power at it.

I keep an extra set of wheel (18 in reps) on hand at all times now because of this problem. The last time I had a leak it was at the valve stem, so it was an easy fix.
I had the same issue with my TF chicanes back in the day.
Yeah man. He just tuned a local guys car that was having issues (cams, 3.0) and he is very happy with how it turned out.

I have a KMJ as a spare. it was working fine but the bearing developed a wicked squeak. Been running the J2FAB 300A Denso Hairpin Extreme Output with no issues for a couple years.
I've only had the car on the dyno for one pull. It made 750~ if I remember correctly. but it was a super safe base tune and I was making wayyyyy too much boost so we shut it down.
So I'm still trying to make time to get it tuned. I'd bet it will be in the 800s
