Thanks. I haven't seen them do a visual inspection before. Might change if it was louder...but then again most of the guys doing the inspection don't have a clue.
I'm curious as to how you guys that live in emissions strict places(*California..Austin...etc) run long tubes and pass emissions. I'm in Austin and I know they run the full OBDII round of checks.
Those are about the same as my results. Stock HE. But after some driving around...out of the boost in traffic, I usually don't see the 30 degree delta that everyone else does. It's usually closer to 45 degrees.
Everyone swears by these aftermarket HEs. When I first got the car, Van told me...
No longer have the car, but Ken Bjonnes at PB Dyno did a fantastic job. I run both his and Lund's tunes and have done so on my Coyote and Trinity cars. Ken did a better job on the 168 by a mile. They both made similiar power but if I had to have that TB again(I'd be hesitant to ever get a...
So, a lot of the 5.0 guys are saying that they burn up the O2 sensors unless they relocate the bungs in the exhaust to point down or something like that. Does our exhaust not have that problem?
I think you're making the right choice. Assuming you are doing the work yourself, it's only a day lost under the car if you're getting the clutch setup for free. Do the slave while you're in there. It's only a hundred bucks IIRC. That transmission is heavy...get a friend or 5. lol
Yea, the DYAD really is one of the best compromises I think. I have gotten used to the slight chatter/noise. As long as you expect it and can get used to the fact that those characteristics are normal, you'll be fine. I also went w/ the MGW Gen II at the same time...so that also increased the...
This is just my opinion...but even if I didn't have the 3.73s, and considering other people's success with the stock parts, I'd go stock if I had it to do again. You'll come out 1/2 the price in parts. Nothing wrong w/ the DYAD but it doesn't sound like you're thrilled with the compromises...
That was my concern too. Especially since my stock clutch was giving up at probably around 685WHP. That said, I got the car w/ 17.5k miles on it. No telling how it was treated or driven before I got ahold of it.
Yea, sorry. I put the list together for my '14 so that's why it's missing. IMHO, if you're going to replace the line, get a 70 dollar braided line from Van anyway.
Because I'm not tremendously pleased w/ the DYAD, I put together this parts list the other day so that I can go back to my stock '14 clutch at some point. Considering Ford may obsolete these parts in the not too distant future, it will be good to have them on hand anyway. I would assume they...
Interesting. Yea, I didn't use any either. I figured it just had to do with the input shaft dragging on the clutch splits and might allow for a little wiggle room in getting it to seat. But, I obviously don't know a whole lot about this stuff other than the basic principles...so you may be...
I was under the impression that lubing the pilot shaft splines just aided in stabbing the transmission. I was also under the impression that the chatter comes from the clutch disc material "skipping" across the mating surface of the flywheel/pressure plate under certain conditions...which is...
Yea. That pretty much sums it up. Based on what I had read, you'd never know the car wasn't stock w/ the DYAD. That is clearly bullshit and is my own fault for believing that knowing full well that it had to be capable of handling some serious abuse. Were I to do it again, knowing that the...
So, 900 mile update.
1. Chatter is still there at low rev starts. I'd say it's gotten better over the last couple hundred miles but it is not gone. DEFINITELY worse when it's hot. In other words, smooth as glass when you first fire it up in the morning and during the first few miles. As it...
If it is truly false knock, would you see the same KR in all tunes? In other words, if you saw 2 degrees w/ brand X tune, wouldn't you still see that same 2 degrees in the stock or brand Y tune? Only if it's truly false knock.
I may be totally off base here but trying to solve one of these...
So, my tuner says there is a variation between bank 1 and bank 2 for my afr. He said this is indicative of an exhaust leak. He said it only happens under WOT and could be considered normal. I was just wondering if any of you that have data logged your cars have seen this variation? Exhaust...
Not tuned and flashed back to stock?
I had that problem with an FRPP tune years ago and got the following directly from Ford Racing Engineering. I'm not sure what part of your setup isn't showing as ready, but this worked for me back in the day. I had driven around for 400 plus miles and...
