Oil pump drive gears - don't wait to install, trust me

I had the opposite problem...took forever getting one bolt out, but only 30 seconds to get it back in.

    VMP Customer Service

Glad yours was taken care of, but looks like it went way on its own vs any thing VMP did. In my case, I will have to say Customer Service is insufficient for the difficult problems as I noted....problem was never resolved.

    VMP Customer Service

VMP had me do the same process...I datalog, they review, they state logs are good and no impacts. We also went over the other obvious like vacuum leaks and such...nothing there. They mentioned they could probably update the tune that would simply prevent the P219A from popping up, however, I...

    VMP Customer Service

I can only comment from a tuning perspective...haven’t had any hardware issues other than a missing throttle body gasket in my kit which they quickly addressed. For my tuning issue, I had a persistent P219A code that kept popping. Although VMP reacted fairly quickly in tweaking the tune to...

    First dyno

That’s about the same numbers I pulled here in Colorado last year with stock VMP tune, but with a 82mm pulley due to altitude. I had to migrate to a local tuner as VMP couldn’t resolve a P219A code that kept popping. The local tuner appears to have resolved that (maybe by luck...who knows)...

Oil pump drive gears - don't wait to install, trust me

I went back and forth on this, but decided to swap them out while performing the supercharger install. Not hard to do, but quite tedious.

Intermittent issues after VMP Stage 1 install - limp mode and P219A code

@VMP Performance In the latest correspondence with VMP, they indicated they didn’t see any issues from the past data logs... I shouldn’t see P219A codes as they should be hidden...appears they think I didn’t load revised tune correctly. I loaded the revised tune twice...had to return to stock...

    NGauge no iat2 pid

I assume it is MCT based on input from the tuner. I’m curious why HP Tuners felt the need to use or call out a different PID.

    NGauge no iat2 pid

No, I haven't looked for that one in particular though. You may just have to scan through all of them.

    NGauge no iat2 pid

When I had a VMP tune, it was IAT2. When I had a local tuner tune my car (problem with VMP tune and persistent code), PID is now called MCT (Manifold Charge Temperature) on my vehicle...don’t know why the change other than its tuned now with HP Tuner. If you still have a VMP tune, I assume you...

Intermittent issues after VMP Stage 1 install - limp mode and P219A code

I went with VMP as it was a small company, plug n play harnesses, potentially better inter cooler, and some mentioned Roush tunes were a bit down on power compared to VMP. Maybe I just got stuck with a VMP tuner that seems to think that when a customer plunks down $6k-$10k for a setup, that we...

Intermittent issues after VMP Stage 1 install - limp mode and P219A code

To be fair, the car seemed to run fine with the updated tune. They did update the tune to enable the emission test to run and again to ensure CEL wasn’t triggered when P219A popped...so I can get through emissions testing. Unfortunately, car still threw P219A codes. I understand it’s...

Intermittent issues after VMP Stage 1 install - limp mode and P219A code

Update: I didn't replace the O2 sensor as suggested by VMP, but went ahead and had a local tuner with dyno tune the car. After 500+ miles of driving, I no longer see the P219A code after a tune by a local shop. As a result, this suggests the VMP tune was allowing a P219A code to be...

First drag strip run with VMP Gen 2R in Denver...only 12.8 time

It’s basically the stock VMP Gen2R setup...JLT intake, 60mm twin throttle body, stock exhaust, 82mm pulley, 91 octane, 285/35-19 Continental extreme contact rear tires, and 3.55 gears. To be honest, I’m not looking to push power levels with more upgrades...sure I’d take more, but fairly happy...

IAT2 now MCT - view MCT via phone app and bluetooth OBDII device?

After I had my car dyno tuned, it appears the IAT2 temperature data is now a different PID called call MCT (Manifold Charge Temperature). I believe the local tuner was using HP Tuner software. Although I can see the MCT data via the SCT X4 tuner and the LiveLink software on my laptop, I no...

Just dyno tuned with blower...couple questions...IAT2 data and passenger spark plugs

Looks like my tuner is using HP Tuner software....the IAT2 data is called MCT (Manifold Charge Temperature)....odd they decided to change. I can see the data via the SCT LiveLink software on a laptop, but not the OBDII reader and phone app (Dash Commander)....will try another phone app as its...

Just dyno tuned with blower...couple questions...IAT2 data and passenger spark plugs

Talked with tuner...he said he didn’t enable it...will enable this week when I bring it back in. He wanted me to put a few miles on it with fresh gas, put on dyno, and double check everything. As for cats, have to have them where I live. I checked the cat temps via my reader....both match...

Just dyno tuned with blower...couple questions...IAT2 data and passenger spark plugs

Just had my VMP Stage one kit tuned locally. Same shop dyno car at 560 RWHP last year, now 605 after their tune. Shop noticed passenger side spark plugs have some carbon on the plugs, while none of driver side do. Shop seemed to think the passenger side catalytic converter may be failing and...

How are you launching your car ?

I’m curious as well. Went to the track a few weeks ago for the first time...launched at 1500 rpm, but still had quite a bit of wheel spin, but I have a VMP supercharger. Trying to get the hang of how much rpm and feathering the throttle and/or clutch.

There are a few others as well. I was thinking in purchasing them as well, but changed my mind after putting on the Steeda jacking rails providing me with a bit more flexibility.

First drag strip run with VMP Gen 2R in Denver...only 12.8 time

Here is the time slip...left lane. A new 2020 GT500 was in the right lane. This was my best time, but worst reaction...was waiting on green for this one. The rest of the runs has better reaction times as I started working off the yellow, but times were worse due to shifting issues at high...

First drag strip run with VMP Gen 2R in Denver...only 12.8 time

Was finally able to take the Mustang out to the local drag strip (Bandimere) after installing the Gen 2R Stage 1 kit last year. I was somewhat disappointed with a fastest time of 12.8. However, this seemed to roughly the around the same speed the stock 13-14 GT500’s were running. This is my...

    Question about the rods

From what I’ve seen after installing a Gen2R kit, I was more concerned about the oil pump gears than the rods. I went ahead and changed out my oil pump gears as a result and havnt worried about the rest of the internals at this time.
