400hp would make a great fit for our Dual-Friction clutch. It uses different friction materials on each side of the disc to give you the best of both worlds-improved clamping force and stock-like engagement. The DF was designed it primarily for street cars that see occasional track use, so we...
Hi Razor, our DYAD is extremely easy to drive with, which makes it a great choice for high-powered street cars that also see track use. Pedal pressure is similar to stock, or even lighter in some applications, thanks to the centrifugal weights on the pressure plate. The engagement of the organic...
We would agree with this. You shouldn't be getting vibration in the pedal during break-in if everything is lined up properly. We would recommend bringing it back to the shop to have them take a look. Continuing to drive on it will most likely lead to uneven wear on the friction surfaces. Keep us...
Could there be an issue with the tune? It sounds more like an ignition breakup or the AFR being off rather than a clutch-related problem. If possible, take a quick video so we can get some more info on whats going on.
If you do mostly street driving with some occasional track use we would recommend our Dual Friction kit. The centrifugal weight system on the pressure plate reduces pedal effort and makes it a breeze to drive on the street!
The cons of going hydraulic would be cost and extra work involved. The same performance can be achieved with a properly set up cable system and aftermarket quadrant.
The DYAD would definitely be the way to go for a high-power build like this. Its smooth engagement and light pedal pressure makes is easily streetable, but can also withstand being punished at the track. If you happen to have any questions later on that we can answer, please dont hesitate to...
Mrpork, the organic discs we use on the DYAD allows it to be slipped just as easily as a stock clutch. This material is much more forgiving than the carbon or cerametallic friction discs that are used on most performance clutches, which makes it perfect for high-powered street cars. You can find...
Thanks for the recommendations, guys! The DYAD would definitely work great for the OP. At 800hp it is nowhere close to being maxed out, and the organic discs we use makes it extremely easy to slip and drive on the street. The pedal pressure is usually the same, or even lighter than stock in most...
That information is correct. We do not know of any manufacturers that currently make one for the stock clutch because of this. If you weren't planning on changing the cars power level much, it may be best to stick with the stock clutch/flywheel setup.
After talking to some users here on the...
If it's only a small slip right now, you should still be able to drive the car conservatively for a bit longer, but it would be a good idea to start putting money aside for the replacement.
If you were looking for something a little more performance-oriented, we offer our DYAD clutch for the...
Byan, it sounds like an OE clutch would be the best replacement for you. Unless you are increasing power quite a bit, or tracking the car often, you will not see much benefit from an upgraded clutch.
For how inexpensive it is, the 26-spline is a very worthwhile mod for the peace of mind.
If you intended use is primarily for the street, we would recommend a steel flywheel. Aluminum units will be better for acceleration, but requires higher revs to take off from a stop (more wear), and a can...
